This is where you got him with something like: “This is a man who would rather believe made up stuff on TV than the actual officials in charge. You don’t want someone who can’t tell fact from fiction in the white house again.”

Didn’t see that bit, no. Based on the clip I assumed she didn’t get a chance to reply.

Yes I loved how she didn’t get caught up in going point by point to refute all the bullshit he spewed, but still managed to convey the whole “everything this guy says is bullshit” message.

The dogs and cats bulcrap did what it was supposed to do. It allowed him to avoid the question on why he refused the border bill proposed by Biden.

By making him sound like an insane conspiracy theorist instead? Nah. He could have given a plausible answer like “it wasn’t going far enough” which would have been sufficient.

The thing is, that insane answer didn’t put out any of his base. A bad answer to the actual question would.

Exactly. At this point it can’t be about convincing undecided voters (whoever is still undecided won’t pay attention to any of this and will still be undecided). It’s more about whether or not people can be arsed to go out of their homes to vote.

Saying this: Please vote (as long as you are not planning to vote for the convicted felon of course)

She should’ve mouthed the words, shook her head, gestured towards him, and looked at the presenters like, “Are you seeing this shit?”, that would’ve been icing on the cake.

It’s totally true though! At one of his recorded speeches he said that exact thing! And wouldn’t you know it, when he got back home and turned the TV on, he watched some Cheeto looking old man say the same thing he’d said just a little earlier!

    Coincidence? I think not!!

Is it just me or is imgur turning to shit? I can’t get it to load anything anymore.

Hmmm, might be something with Chrome.

Imgur has been enshittifying for multiple years. When I went on reddit a few years ago, its use was already discouraged by some subs.

They wanted to become their own site and more profitable, instead of just being an image hosting site for reddit. So they started to fight against hotlinking and tried to keep redditors captive on their site.

When people share a link to an image hosted on imgur, it finds ways to break hotlinking to show the whole site in an effort to show ads and keep users captive, on their site.

From what I can see their enshittification started around 2016.

Recently there’s also been people reporting that they apparently highjack the back button of a browser to make it even more difficult to escape.

AFAIK it’s also why reddit itself started to host images.

They really really really want people to stay on their site.

EDIT: Here’s some evidence, from a reddit thread, obviously https://www.reddit.com/r/OutOfTheLoop/comments/awfckb/whats_the_deal_with_imgur_does_reddit_own_it_why/

I felt like there were so many more times when she could have Jim’d the camera. I was hoping that they would do a quick zoom on her while she knowingly looked to the camera to emphasize the “we all know this is bullshit” vibe.

I think it’s just a way of shifting the terms (cat, dog, pet) away from the “childless catlady”-story which backfired so horribly.

To me it played more like “the caravan” - a way to drive fear and hatred of immigrants - but even more insane.
