Initially: Thank god we can finally stop pretending Trump is a real candidate

      Moments later: Oh, oh no

Ten years later: What what what oh shit oh fuck

I have repeated this story numerous times.

After that tape came out, a conservative woman went on The View TV show to defend Trump.

One of the panelists kept using the phrase ‘removed.’

The conservative woman asked her to please stop using that offensive term.

As a PoC we kinda just go with the flow. Got a few scattered family members that support him for his regressive values but its very few and far between. For white people, I can only imagine, entire families must have had a schism put through them.

Honestly, this should’ve been the end of it. No sane country would elect someone that said this as their president

We are fundamentally broken. It doesn’t matter. It’s been a facade the whole time.

He is america. A racist misogynist bully.

I’m going to blame reconstruction failing. We never corrected the hypocrisy at our core and this is the result.

Amen. Trump is showing the world what America truly is. The rest of the world sees this. Many Americans do not.

And to throw an olive branch, many countries are a Trump away from the same realization.

Being an optimist it’s waves throughout humanity and this is merely the most recent one. We are better as a species though still not perfect. My gut tells me we will make it out of this but like many times before the old thinking will need to die.

We are going to look back at the greed rampant today for the mental disease if truly is and address the underlying issue that makes people like Elon or Bezos not only exist but thrive. We will come to the realization that people like that are not normal and we will no longer idolize or encourage such destructive individualism.

Who is “we”? You had some big part in this? Stop blaming yourself and please stop blaming me. There’s not much need to self-identify with an oppressive system if you’re not actively doing the oppressing. The nationalist “we” is garbage.

I hate to be the one to tell you, but the moral timber of the a lot of American voters is infested with selfishness and a lust for hurting others with impunity. And while good people stay home, the selfish always vote.

It really should have been. The “conservatives” are not religious or conservative, they are disgusting. The “conservative” republican party is way WAY too liberal for my tastes. We should start calling republicans the “libs”, because they are.

You sound like someone who still believes a party what doesn’t blab about it’s cruelties, wrongdoing and stupidity is a party that is innocent and good. Haha, good one. Who has been the opponent of trump the first time around in 2016, Hillary Clinton, right? Personally I always welcomed trumps presidency. Thanks to him the whole world can see what a farce our democracies are (and it’s not only the MAGAs I talk about). And as Europeans it enabled us to distance ourselves more easily from the forced western dependency/decadency. I just don’t know what’s better: being a US colony as before or the recent stupidity, having a straight-from-BlackRock-lobbyist as a chancellor… Darn, and that’s one of the reason why people become more and more aggressive while becoming decreasingly tolerant to differing world views…

Remember when Christians called for Clinton to resign because he was unfit to be president because he got a BJ from an intern? Those same Christians voted for Trump.

Absolutely true. However, it hardly looks any better for Democrats. Bill Clinton is barely any better than Trump, and yet he is still revered in party circles.

Also, Democratic party elites have yet to back Mamdani in NY which is defacto support for Cuomo who has the same kind of track record.

This isn’t a Republican problem, it’s a wealthy elites problem.

All of it is about control, it has nothing to do with logic. If you understand this, fighting these idiots becomes much easier. You’re not dealing with reasonable adults, you’re dealing with a bunch of giant upset babies that don’t want to get sent to their room.

friendly reminder that they ended Howard Dean’s presidential campaign because he got a bit impassioned in one of his speeches and said “Hyah!” a bit awkwardly. that was too weird for a presidential candidate.

That image of text that breaks accessibility, searchability, & fault tolerance for no compelling reason while making the web less usable would have been far better as proper text.

To be fair something can be said about allowing formatting. For this the added value is little though, and it would’ve been better if an alt text was provided

If I wanted to protest in the US, I would put that quote on tshirts and have everyone buy it. It would make for quite a tv presence…
