The Picard Maneuver@startrek.websiteMto memes@lemmy.world•When I see The_Picard_Maneuver’s total combined post and comment score on his profile page0·1 year agoOmg, thanks! I noticed that it had hit a million recently, and I was thinking about writing up a post to commemorate it and maybe share some thoughts about my experience posting like a madman on the fediverse for 6-7 months so far. If I do, it’ll probably be on the c/fediverse community, unless anyone can think of a more fitting one.
I’m also surprised it’s still visible! My instance upgraded to 0.19 recently, which supposedly takes away the upvote count from your profile view. I was secretly hoping to make it to one million before the upgrade happened… Lol
(Edit: also glad to hear you got into TNG!)

Batman is just running around Gotham, sleep deprived as hell, grabbing confused commuters by the shoulders and accusing them of being The Penguin.
Duct tape?! That"s a wild home remedy.
The Picard Maneuver@startrek.websiteOPtoMicroblog Memes@lemmy.world•I've read some weird takes about 9/11 already. English0·1 year agoIt was a near immediate campaign to convince people not to believe their lying eyes and ears. I think deep down, the spin doctors know that they’re lying though.
The Picard Maneuver@startrek.websiteOPtoMicroblog Memes@lemmy.world•I've read some weird takes about 9/11 already. English0·1 year agoIt made the world weird - especially politics. I still attribute the extreme polarization that we see today to the aftermath of 9/11.
Don’t get me wrong, I know people had strong opinions before 2001, but it didn’t seem like political party was as significant a part of the average person’s identity like it is now.
