Apologies for the late comment. So this is a full-fledged frontend like photon or alexandrite, but with this recommendation engine built in? On first glance, it looks so much more responsive and lightweight! I’m really wondering what you’ve done that other big frontends haven’t lol, no broken images or anything! If you do end up going open source, I might consider actually contributing to something for once. I’d love to help build out some features.

That makes sense. I always took it as ce is a more general “it” while il refers more to people or places, but I’m sure that doesn’t always hold true. And apparently ce is only used as a subject with être for the most part. I’m too analytical to just understand without digging in lol

I took a few years of French forever ago. Never really understood when to use ce over il, along with all the hyphenated forms ce is pushed into.

Personally, I always tried to translate back literally, so qu’est-ce que c’est -> what is it/this that it/this is. But I’ve also felt like this isn’t the best approach given it’s through the lens of an English speaker.

Oddly enough, I suddenly couldn’t log into my old account today either. I used the word Lemmy in a chat, so I assume that’s it. I literally never post and rarely comment. Right in line for that shitsack site. I don’t know why I expected better from reddit than just straight up locking you out.

Been in the same situation, with closer to mid-level experience. A plethora of companies, constantly hiring for the same positions while rejecting hundreds of applicants, week after week. Makes total sense. I can only hope there’s something illegal about it.
