Yep. Holy shit I was stunned at how rapidly the apparently caring people around me, could reproduce the most vile, reactionary garbage when prompted.
Naïve me assumed they just didn’t have the info; Most refused to even look at it. They became, or rather were revealed to be, exactly the sort of reality-denying bigot I’ve spent my life fighting with.
It was extremely demoralising and I am a much more guarded and standoffish person than before now.
The largest of problems also cause the biggest of divides.
