As a born and raised New Mexican, fuck this absolute piece of garbage, and fuck anyone who has voted or is continuing to vote for the convicted rapist and pedophile party. New Mexico is a culturally rich and diverse state, full of traditions going back hundreds, in some cases thousands, of years.

No that’s still something you come across, not as often as it used to be. 10-15 years ago I had someone ask if they needed their passport to visit NM, which was funny because they were dead serious. I think since Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul got as popular as it did people figured out NM was a state but I cannot confirm this, it’s just my head canon.

Love visiting NM, except the mountain pass we have to go through to get there. Absolutely hate that part or we might get over more.

We moved here from a cold state many many moons ago and Phoenix had a lot to offer for jobs. Feel like we shoulda looked harder back then. To poor now to make another move but, we will if we gotta.

Mobs are easier to form when your entire country is the size of a single US state and everyone who wants to participate in the country is within a day of driving to the same location. Your people aren’t less willing to be fucked over by the government. It’s just easier for the small percentage of you who will riot to meet up.

Eh. Honestly, I think it’s pretty likely both incidents in which someone got “close” were probably false-flags. Orangeboi is a complete coward. I genuinely think he’d piss his pants and run away screaming if it was a real attempt on his life. There are a number of very suspicious points to the rally event in particular.

So this coward you speak of agreed to allow a teenager to fire a rifle at him from 350’? And Joe Biden’s USSS, who he had purged of MAGA agents, and Joe Biden’s FBI (who agreed Trump was dinged by a rifle round or fragment) were in on it?

Watch him when they pull him up seconds after we hear the “all clear”. He is fucking stunned. Couple of photographers angle in for a shot (lemmy tells they were in on it as well), Trump sees the first thing he understands, “Cameras on ME!”, and does the fist pump.

And all those USSS agents who were demoted or fired, and both shooters, all agreed to upend their careers and lives for…?

Or we could just admit that a couple of dudes shot their shot at the most reviled man in America, possibly and all-time hatred in American politics.

Do not let perfection be the enemy of good.

Vance does not have any of the charisma nor the following that Trump has. His ability to coalesce a ruling party is low. It’s why Trump is still in power.

The bigger issue as I see it is that Trump wants to rule by charisma first. I don’t think Vance particularly gives a shit if people curse his name - meaning that, at the first sign of things getting out of hand, I think he’s more willing to hit the “start killing protestors until the streets are red” button.

Comically, New Mexico acquired its name long before “New Spain” became Mexico. Apparently New Mexico predates Mexico. (By a decent while too).

      …

New Mexico predates the modern country of Mexico, yes.

But when Spanish Conquistadors first reached the Valle de Mexico, in the 1520s, it was the most densely populated urban area on the planet at over a million people.

That’s why New Mexico includes “new”, because it wasn’t the original.

The ignorance in America is too vast to describe without sounding like hyperbole.

Said something about Trump’s dementia to a good friend last week, “Yeah, but Biden was pretty bad too wasn’t he?”

There are exactly two people on my street that understand current events, both old black folks. My young black friend (above) and the white people of all ages are clueless. My Asian wife only knows about Trump through me and her friends and family back home who now hate him over gas prices. (See chart)

There’s a monster chunk of our population that votes on vibes and how their personal life is going. Trump’s 30% approval? That’s not MAGA, that’s the politically disconnected.

No, the “vote by their feelings” people left long ago. These are the hardcore mother fuckers left supporting Republicans and MAGA.

These are the low IQ, racists, the facists, authoritarians. Some just simply won’t vote for any other party besides Republicans.

These are the people who would have still supported Hitler in the hours before he put his gun in his mouth.

These people won’t stop even when Trump is gone. They will deny, rebrand and come back again supporting the same shitty agenda.

Yall chose the most hated woman politician, and put her against Trump. Look at Bernie he still out there freash and fighting good fight. Had a other chance and again chose the fucking neo liberal who spent 4 years accomplishing nothing. Or he did just got overturn. What really pisses me off is the asshole knew, KNEW, he had incurable cancer and still ran again. When it was clear he could not beat Trump instead of having a primary they chose to stick Harris on us that no one wanted. Yet I still voted for her. But millions just didn’t vote.

Now only way out of this is the one thing the majority of Americans refuse to do. And we need millions to do this thing we are to have snowball chance in hell of fixing this problem.

The biggest problem was the lack of a real primary. Biden, at his worst, may have never been as mentally compromised as Trump at his best, but it was still obvious he wasn’t up to serving another term. Not stepping aside to let us choose the next candidate ruined the chance we had of stopping Trump.

Joe Biden has stage 4 prostate cancer that spread and is in extreme pain and was doing radiation. I’m not saying by any means Trump was better but Joe Biden absolutely should not have or be president in that condition. He has months to live now.
