Tattoo ink from Amazon? Gross. Never buy anything from Amazon that goes on or in your body.
I dunno, my mercury pills still seem alright.
What’s frightening is you’re not in control of where a tattoo artist sources their ink. You can ask, but you won’t really know. I’ve been eager to get additional tattoos but this freaks me out.
OK but… do you buy your own tattoo ink? Do you know that your tattoo artist didn’t get theirs from Amazon?
If they’ve already been buying trusted brands on Amazon, I could see them also trying something new…
My teen bought a kit off Amazon. Luckily found it before they used it but Def gonna also show them this article
Add fuses to that list:

Definitely skip the candy dildo thong
Maybe the candy.
Me looking at headlines lately
Bacteria don’t mind being called toxic or gross, but call them weird and they flip their shit.
Are bacteria Republicans?
Also, your comment was gold. This is for you:
Or let’s just leave that shit behind on reddit where it belongs.
I noticed I immediately think of Republicans now when I read the word “weird” lol.
My never-purchase-anything-from-amazon lifestyle is vindicated on a daily basis at this point
Well… this makes me less inclined to get a tattoo.
Then again, the only tattoo I’ve ever wanted was one that just said “Leviticus 19:28,” but most people wouldn’t get the joke.
You’ll have to look it up.
David Cross joked about getting a tattoo of a milk carton with a certain holy figure with the words “Have you seen me?”
Someone sure loves limbo
Just call me Hermes Conrad.
Sweet potatoes of Barbados!
Just watch out for Barbados Slim.
Good places put their inks and other materials in an autoclave to sterilize it before use.
Name a bacterium you wouldn’t consider weird.
Clostridium tetani (the bacteria that causes tetanus), it’s extremely common, basically everywhere.
Common can absolutely be weird.
Name a bacterium you wouldn’t consider weird.
Nostoc.

For real. Find the product you need on the supplier site. Either they’re made up selling crappy copies, or you’re likely to get it cheaper (if slower).
Remember they pay silly fees to be labelled for ‘Prime shipping’ - no, it’s not included in the subscription, you are often paying extra and it goes to Amazon.
I JUST got inked Sunday. Very nice place and his inks were on display. I just don’t know anything about them. I’m sure I’m good.
I do have to go back for session #2 still. There’s an important note at the bottom of that article:
“The recall announcement noted that Sierra Stain is no longer in business. While the company lists a remaining email address, it did not immediately respond to a comment request from Ars on the bacteria found in their inks.
The FDA recommends that consumers be vigilant about the quality and safety of tattoo supplies and techniques. It also encourages tattoo artists to work in professional environments that can reduce the risk of contamination.”
Stay safe. Talk to your artists about their materials. Feel comfortable in your decision. These are your responsibilities.
I’m not discounting the issues with oversight, but these issues are arguably with the entire cosmetic industry as a whole, not just the tattoo industry.
This article is very informative, but given that the recall was tagged to one supplier that was already out of business, I do consider it misleading.
For piercings, APP is fantastic resource & well regarded.
I honestly cannot say the same about ATP, but they did release this statement about ink ingredients 5 months ago.
Take it for what’s it’s worth. Not an expert or an artist, just planning a few more pieces myself.
Damn guys a photocopier, thats some detail!
He’s amazing. After looking at his portfolio I knew he was the right one for the job.
Quite nice!
Round two. Three more hours.

So, does anyone know of a reputable place to buy inks? I want to do some stick and poke on myself, and I would rather not die from it.
I mean I’m not a tattoo artist so I have no idea about the specifics but there’s surely some recognized, industry standard brands used by pros. Stick to these and you’ll probably be fine, don’t save a few bucks on that one.
