Feb 16 2026 Justice Department head Pam Bondi says “all Epstein files released”

“Attorney General Pam Bondi announced in a letter to Congress that the Justice Department has released what she described as ‘all’ of the Jeffrey Epstein files, saying the agency has fulfilled its obligations under the Epstein Transparency Act.”

Mar 4 2026 … apparently that thing she said was a lie.

Trump has not been accused of criminal wrongdoing, and one’s appearance in the Epstein files does not suggest otherwise.

It sounds to me that “The Independent” has been bought and paid for. Not only has he been accused thousands of times, he is a convict.

Have you not heard of defamation???

It’s the most standard boiler plate statement journalist are forced to insert into their stories by their legal department.

Although this raises an interesting point. If Trump sued the independent for defamation clearly he would have much to lose in discovery hence he probably wouldn’t do it, so you could potentially come out and call Trump a pedophile.

Then again Trump seems to be killing a lot of people, rule of law be damned

It’s why subtext is so important, because this is clearly implied in the article ie Trump is guiltily of hideous crimes hence why the DoJ had to, illegally, delete/scrub files with information in that clearly showed his culpability

They are under no obligation to, of course, but I wish we’d see the victims band together and ask that any & all parties with access to the full unredacted files release them immediately. Zero redactions.

There are so many victims though, that you can’t just get them on a stage together on TV. And surely some will still not want to be outed.

It sucks that some innocent folks would relive bad memories from an unredacted release. On the other paw, that shield of civility is also letting horrible monsters have free reign to continue abusing people, or to escape the consequences of their sordid past.

As a society, we should be able to treat the survivors with kindness, and the understanding that they didn’t “ask for it”.

Oh I agree. The documents should get dumped in full and we should treat the survivors with the grace and generosity they deserve.

Then maybe we think of some ways to stop putting greedy psychopaths into positions of power!

Our culture is completely on board with ruining both of these ideas, though.

Yea, but US is the one nation that put Epstein in power, and kept him there for decades. Keeps him there even after his death. This one is not something you can put blame on “everywhere”.

Really? Accidental over-disclosure or improper redaction of legal documents only happens in countries “run by tax collecting pedophiles, rapists and war hawks”?

No, the fact that they are getting away with it only happens in these kind of entities you call countries.

Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to “Mom! He’s bugging me!” and “I’m not touching you!” Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That’s all the rules!
