I often talk to people who call themselves nerds, and what they mean is that they like marvel movies. Like the biggest most seen movie franchise that is out there. Star wars has gained almost as much traction, it just flopped hard and harder. I’m not here to gatekeep, but when someone tells me they are a nerd because they watch marvel movies, then we probably need a new term.

Someone didn’t have a childhood where they only watched the Jetsons and the Flintstones

Before electric skateboards were a thing, and electric motors and batteries became better and better, i thought I had a great idea for an electric skateboard. I cut some holes into my longboard, attached an upside down truck on top and an electric motor, made a lot of mistakes and then someone launched an electric skateboard that was pretty slick and i just saw that and thought: that’s way better.

These awards are fascinating to me. As a child i thought how great it is when a movie won an oscar. You would see a dvd with 5 oscars on it and you go whoooooo.

And then you learn that a lot of these judges don’t even watch the movies, you need to give them gifts and lick their asses to even be considered.

Do people eat anglerfish? Aren’t they deep sea fish?

In my humble opinion, 4k is a bit of a joke. I pick a high as possible frame rate over 4k any day of the week.

As much as i love video games, steam devices and all that jazz, i never saw a reason to get a steam deck.

That’s like Ali G saying he invented the PlayStation 2 because he thought about it when the playstation came out.

Well that doesn’t narrow it down the slightest in america it seems.

What animal isn’t cute that humans eat?

It’s so interesting that this always happens, and nothing changes. Yeah, this thing is cool, but i want to make something else.

I feel like the steam machine could actually change the trajectory of gaming. I mean look at the playstation 5. It was crazy overhyped, they don’t have any games, pay to play online, the next one is around the corner. The xbox is somehow even worse. If the steam machine sells, linux is gonna see an insane push and the game developers have to sink or swim.

That’s what pisses me off about Hollywood. That movie made 12million dollars. What a colossal failure that was.

My girlfriend is the same. She just sees the “whole” and misses the details. I notice the details and sometimes miss the “whole”

I always wondered how they make shows more than what they are trying to sell. I find it interesting when they suddenly wear different clothing between shots and things like that. I’m rewatching king of queens right now and i find it fascinating how they change things up between episodes, because continuity doesn’t matter (or didn’t back then) and it’s more about having fun. They had a cold opening where Carrie was trying to park her car. They had a top view of the car to see the failed attempts. You could see her or the drivers lavender coloured shirt, same as from the hood perspective. Doug asks her if he should do it from the passenger seat in a flannel shirt. She declines over and over. At the end she finally got in, and you see it from the top view and the driver was wearing the flannel. But in the story it was her. Things like that make me wonder if they had an alternative joke where he did it, or if she wasn’t able to do it irl.

I wouldn’t be scared to stand on it, or even jump on it. But what is there even to gain?
