I’m not knowledgeable about these things. But why the keffiyeh for the bad guy???
Combined with the flowery t-shirt I was reading that as a long-haired hippie stereotype – kumbaya, all-is-happy, etc. It’s common in this kind of skit to drape a shirt or pillowcase over your head to lazily represent a long-haired character.
I’d guess it’s related to pastoralism and pastoralist cultures in the Middle East region. The costume is definitely confusing, that is a t-shirt.
Feels pretty islamophobic. If this was our instance, we would remove it.
