The sensor (native 1440p in 16:9 mode) and lens is probably the weak point, easily beaten by mid-range 2012 pocket cameras (almost: those have 12 MP and 5x optical zoom but no IR-cut solenoid), albeit those max out at 1080p30 H.264 because of processing power limitation. However, there’s a “Long Range” model too, presumably with a better camera, but nobody has disassembled and documented that AFAIK.
