I’m so fucking stoked now that we can shit on Republicans for having an old candidate. We should reeeallly lean on this. Come up with slogans:

Diaper Donald the Geriatric Cheeto Pedo

And post it on billboards all over purple counties

You can look at all my comments today to see my enthusiasm. I wish more folks were feeling hopeful. I told my partner I was stoked and she was so confused as to why this shouldn’t be perceived as a full scale collapse.

I didn’t like Kamala in the past. I didn’t like Biden either. Politically speaking, they both align closely with one another and are also aligned quite close to my political leanings, ideally speaking. I didn’t like the baggage Kamala brought with her and I didn’t like how boring ole Biden was. Turns out boring won, and I’ve truly valued the work he’s done since 2020.

I’ve also come around on Kamala since then, especially after reading her book, and listening to some of her speeches more recently. I don’t think she’s the same person she was 20+ years ago. Who among us would say that about ourselves? I think she’s evolved away from the drug criminalization prosecutor era, and she’s clearly gotten a lot stronger since 2020 as both a public speaker and debater.

If her and Trump actually do have a debate (I doubt it) I fully expect her to completely embarrass him. She’s much younger, much sharper, and has all of the right tools through her career to completely pants him as the old withering corpse that he has become even since 2016. Bonus points if she drops a “lock him up!” because, well, she actually could.

Yes, I am actually looking forward to voting for Harris. I would even more so if she taps Mark Kelly as her VP. That would be a dream.

This is the right attitude. Not in terms of political strategy, but in a practical sense. The point about how none of us are who were 20 years ago is huge. I appreciate all Joe’s done and his huge patriotic sacrifice…

But now I’m actually hopeful! I’m enthusiastic! I’m energized! Join me in volunteering and donating, and make sure everyone you know votes. Donald Trump and his 2025 architects don’t have a chance if we’re all united!!!

They don’t care. If the hypocrisy of saying that while running a 78 year old candidate is lost on you, consider that every word out of their mouth is projection, and they’ll probably start saying stuff like Kamala doesn’t have the experience to lead or that being half Indian makes her beholden to foreign powers or some shit, despite mango bastard being the most unfit to lead president in history and his various business and familial ties to foreign power.

They do care. It’s why they swap narratives. It’s a mechanism on a cultural level derived by the negligence of Trump himself, that being his inability to take responsibility. Something the GOP has always done, turned up to 11. You don’t fight this with facts, you fight it by targeting emotion.

Take a look at the official federal Republican platform and say that again with a straight face, I fucking dare you.

The average voter in this country is undereducated, underemployed and uninformed. Trump voters voted for him because they thought they were kicking the establishment in the nuts. And of course the saving the guns and the right to bare babies or some shit I’m sure.

No, they don’t understand the policies. And they don’t care to. They generally don’t even watch the debates or speeches. They’re comfortable not knowing. They just want to feel relevant and heard, and sadly the GOP misinformation & marketing has been fairly successful at convincing them Republicans are the ones who care about them over the last 30 years.

If you want your messaging to be that voters are idiots who have no clue what they want, then you might as well embrace a Trump win now.

No, that’s the tragedy. Americans are smart, kind, and compassionate people as a culture. Nearly everyone who travels here from Europe is surprised by this. But through lifelong indoctrination, careful defunding of education and social programs, a huge portion of the population are uneducated and hate specific groups of people they hardly know.

This isn’t the messaging, this is the truth.

The Democratic messaging, largely in response to these circumstances, is that we can do better with time and effort.

You do realize a lot of people travel here too and are accepted and welcomed, and have a positive time too… and it makes Democrats that preach doom & gloom nonstop look like liars. Yes, there are issues… the media likes to talk about the bad more than the good cause it gets reactions & ratings.

If Democrats focus on your last point and that becomes their message to voters to focus on that, then they will be highly successful. Trump gets so much media attention partially because Democrats eat it up… almost like they are addicted to Trump.

Republican voters keep voting against welfare, social security, and healthcare. They are the people more likely to need government assistance. Not all people care about policies.

A lot of Republican voters believe whatever their preacher tells them. Many of them are indoctrinated into a cult. Some of them see Democrats not practicing what they preach, and say… hey, if they’re not going to be honest might as well trust this other guy more. Some of them are malicious and believe they’ll get tax cuts and less regulation to profit.

Democrats though need to focus on a message of providing for the American people. Not all Republicans are lost causes. In the end, the role of a President isn’t to only take care of the people that voted for you. The more you can rally around talking about how Kamala or whoever is nominated and what they plan and will do for America, to help with inflation, house prices, regulation, jobs & opportunities, etc, the more you’ll get people interested.

If you just want to talk about how stupid you think Republicans are, then your message isn’t going to be very strong.

This has nothing to do with insulting stupid Republicans and more to do with showing logic to the logical. If they think Biden is too old to run 4 years ago, then Trump is too old to run now.

Its admirable that you care so much about being fair that you’re worried that they might be too easy to beat with their star player being handicapped. Now if you believe them winning means they’ll create a fascist America afterwards, then I’d prefer their star player be handicapped.

For the past three months, the Republicans and every disinformation campaign has pointed to Biden’s (non-age-related) speaking stutters and 2-year age difference and said “old bad”.

This is not immaturity. This is bipartisanship. We’re just mockingly saying “Yes.”

Who cares if they make disingenuous claims? That is their platform so let them suffer the consequences of being hypocrites. If they want to run and old narcissistic man, then let them. You should be glad they’re running Trump. The more you talk and complain about Trump, it only makes Democrats look weak. Talk about something positive now, like how as a Democrat you want to commit to a platform based on core values. It is time to move on from the doom and gloom messaging.
