I would rather be a gazelle getting torn apart by a pack of painted wolves just trying to survive, than be a pig that spends their whole life in horrific conditions only to be slowly gassed to death because people like bacon.
Wild animal suffering is a problem worth solving too (even if we can’t do it yet with our current knowledge). But how are we gonna get there while we as a species are fine with doing the torturing ourselves??

Kinda sounds like a bad joke… but in Germany they do.
They are being lowered into a pit in masses and then stunned using CO2. In theory (and propagated as such) a rather “good way to go”, but they tend to suffer a fucking awfully long time, because well… they’re being suffocated alive with a lot of them in a small pit. So yea…
we feed them bird shit. nonhuman animals are not capable of this level of psychopathy, not even with uplifting.
also in the wild you might make it longer than it takes for you to grow to full size
