6·2 days agoI disagree. New smartphones may have a few better specs, but are overall worse than older models.
For example, they are getting bigger and bigger and can’t be operated one handed any more, even with Androids one-handed mode, because the zoom makes everything tiny.
Newer phones become hotter, batteries more likely to turn into spicy pillows.
More bloatware preinstalled, like AI stuff or “AR Emoji” etc.
The camera notches are growing too, even though most people would be fine with notchless cameras.
They are getting heavier and thicker too. In 2015 we had 5.1mm 98g phones. Not even a notch. It all went downhill from there.
And don’t even get me started on the prices.

The TACO has me confused again. Should I sell my Raytheon stock? What’s wrong with this guy. I miss Obama.
It comes in handy when you’re so sick, you have to puke and poop at the same time.
19·3 days agoso basically in this area criminals just have to run past one black guy and the cops will assume he’s the suspect and start to beat him up.
yeah, that’s a weak reason against violent protests. stronger ones are:
- the violence is often misdirected at people not able to bring change, eg. small businesses or cars.
- the violence exhausts protesters. many of them being crippled or killed by police, until the protests are suppressed by too few motivated protesters being left.
btw cops love violent protests. they get to kill maim and torture more people than usual. it’s what many of them signed up for and look forward to with excitement. sometimes they have off duty cops in plain clothes infiltrating protesters to start the carnage. all it takes is throwing one stone near a collegue with shield and helmet to give him an excuse to go on a rampage against innocent protesters, while the infiltrator sneaks off
9·4 days agoI hope it might lead to a situation of dirty pics/vids not being a problem for the people in it any more, as it could be a deepfake. Like there were cases where a surfacing dirty pic was used for blackmail, ruined someones career or got them kicked out of some comittee, but since it could be fabrication now, I hope this will beva thing of the past, soon.
Yeah, “normal” people have no time or are too lazy to do that.

7·9 days agoI’ve never encountered someone arguing against minimum wage increase IRL. It’s probably because they fear the very high chance they’ll get slapped.
