What I wouldn’t give for a modern N series. Those phones rocked.

Is Docker considered virtualisation?
Thanks. As bare metal is quite a bit more expensive, what would I lose by going to a VPS? I’m assuming Proxmox and Windows, assuming I wanted to go with a Linux VPS. Would there be issues with running Docker containers with the VPS?
Bookmarked for later.
My exposure to Linux is pretty minimal, especially Linux with a GUI, so forgive my ignorance. Even reading over this thread I’m confused as to the issue here.
I don’t need an ELI5, but maybe someone can explain it like I don’t know what Wayland is?
My understanding is that an app should ask the system to display an object at X size, let’s say text at size 14. The system then works out that at the currently selected display resolution, size 14 will be Y pixels big. If needed, the system can scale that based on user preferences- a small, high DPI screen could render size 14 at only a couple of millimetres, for example.
Is the problem that devs are building things in a way that bypasses scaling? For example, hardcoding size 14 text to be Z pixels high?
Hardware should lead. It’s easier to upgrade the software to make the hardware work, then it is to upgrade the hardware when the software decides to support it.
I stopped using my MacBook Air after 9 years. I did a battery swap at some point, and I think I replaced the charger after the cable frayed. Best windows machine I ever ran.
I feel like the level of snark in your reply is… High. It doesn’t make for a pleasant interaction, and it doesn’t help make lemmy a nice place to be.
So, if the image you want to put into your email is not hosted somewhere, what’s the best way to go about this, ensuring compatibility?
Is it possible to put images in an email without them showing up like this?
This isn’t Indian, it’s Thai- they are known for their insane ads.
Is there a file size limit?
Ok, I’m missing something then.
What is CSS used for?
Right, that’s what I understood. So using a VPN, a CSS will be able to identify that my phone is active, but not the content I’m accessing, or who I am accessing it from, correct?
The previous comment said VPNs do nothing against this type of attack- were they just referring to identifying your device?
Forgive my ignorance, but isn’t preventing this type of man in the middle attack exactly what VPNs are for?
I think I’m out of the loop here.
Sounds like somebody needs to go restore a train…
I’m playing a character at the moment, one of my favourites, but as it gets more powerful I can’t ignore the current dissonance.
I’m playing as a headband of intellect whose previous owner was engulfed by a gelatinous cube. The headband then granted the cube intelligence, who sees itself as a cleric of Jubilex.
I’ve ended up playing this cube as a happy go lucky explorer who just wants to see the world and be friends with everyone. And the party healer, of the life domain.
But then I read into Jubilex. Not exactly the loving life domain type. So now I’m not sure where I want to take this thing.
Fuck, I love this game.
As someone who knows that they know very little about git, this thread makes me think I’m not alone.
People are going to whine about the towing capacity, but can’t beat that price. I’m wary of being an early adopter, but I’m thinking of taking one for a test drive. Lightweight camper on the back, induction stove on board, should be tidy.
Pity it’s such a big vehicle, I’m not a fan of the chunky ute trend.
