Second for Walkabout! While the game is “old” (it’s been out for a long time) they continue to add courses and content, at the rate of about a new course every other month. If you have one or more friends who also have this game, it’s about the best VR hang you can have.
I just finished “Into Thin Air” by Jon Krakauer. Makes me NEVER want to get into mountain climbing as going up Everest sounds insane. Even if you remove the storm and the deaths, I don’t want to spend weeks getting acclimatized to an environment where humans don’t belong just so I can freeze my buns off.
Buckle up and get ready for a RIDE! (I was very bummed out when I got caught up, fun read!)
Did you ever put the McChicken between the two patties of the McDouble to create a McGangbang? I miss that $2 monstrosity.
Every time I try to get into sheep counting I end up falling asleep…
Sorry to break it to you, but it looks like the game series and not the book series (Which makes sense based on OP). That being said, it sounds like at least I have a new book series to check out, so thanks!
+1 for Dinkum (Think multiplayer animal Crossing but with minimal combat, progression, and Stardew Valley-esk day timer instead of real time) Also +1 for Grounded, it’s more survival crafting and combat but still a great vibe.
I can’t speak to most other VR uses, but I have played Walkabout Mini Golf by Mighty Coconut almost weekly for almost 5 years now. The courses are great and they still release new ones almost every month. The game is good alone, but it’s GREAT with 2-7 friends. Honorable mention goes to the “I Expect You to Die” game series - kind of escape-room situations where you are in various life-threatening situations and the scene restarts each time you die (which is frequently).
No powers, just a fantastic gangster’s rise to power story. The setting occurs in the aftermath of superhero events, so I think it checks all the boxes (and it’s fantastic!)
YUP! Oh, you want to do an activity, any activity, you enjoy? Look forward to two-to-six weeks of a random body part being in pain from it.
Second for Piranesi - the exploration of that strange place is as enjoyable as the narrative elements of the story. It’s also a pretty quick read, but well worth it!
You do!
Walkabout Mini Golf from Mighty Coconut is the only VR game I play anymore. Most of the courses demonstrate that you don’t need fancy graphics if you have good aesthetics!
Good luck and thank you for your efforts!
Congratulations, that’s a great accomplishment! Hopefully you are able to hit 4 months, then 4 years, then 4 decades.
That process gave you more technical troubleshooting experience than 98% of my coworkers would ever try.
I agree, trying to optimize gains on every dollar sounds great until one overdraft fee knocks out years of work.
And MUDs.
