The Russian Federation isn’t socialist in any way. China has a Socialist Market Economy, that’s true, but nobody idolizes Russia nor do they believe they would live a better life there.

Those people you mention are just a very loud, screaming minority.
I’m part of these people, I think most of them are social democrat and don’t have any illusion about supposedly socialist countries.
