It will never cease to befuddle me that Disney hasn’t put two and two together that they both own the Muppets IP and want to cash in on nostalgia for all their old movies like Aladdin with live action remakes no one seems to want. Just start churning out Muppet remakes! Or shit gimme a Muppet Star Wars and I’ll start counterfeiting money to go see them.

Bombadil, Sauruman, and The Ring Wraiths are inspired choices. Might I add and revise a bit?

Frodo is human. Sam is muppet. Maybe Scooter.
Sam the Eagle as Sarumon. It would be genuinely distressing to see him turn bad - just like the story wants.
I was thinking Sam the Eagle as Elrond. Both serious and they even look alike.
And I wanted the Eagles to be the chickens Gonzo always has around.
I would watch a shot for shot extended editions Muppets remake and would be happy for ever.
The Muppets do make every film better.
As long as they add in ALL the songs from the book.
