What the fuck is wrong with these republicans who still think hes the greatest president ever? Are they just purely racism and hatred and see him as their mascot? Are they so stupid and uninformed that they drink the koolaid and believe everything that comes out of Fox News and Trumps mouth? I have never understood what people see in that piece of shit. I have hated since back in the day when he did his stupid ass cameo in Home Alone 2. He has always been a sleazy fucking rat bastard that turns everything he touches to shit. I can’t believe that so many people bought the bullshit persona they made up for him on the Apprentice…

They’re annoyed that people experience empathy and curiosity.

        They don’t.

They just want to be ignorant bigots without challenge or second thought.

They’re tired of living with people who are genuinely BETTER HUMAN BEINGS than them.

It makes them feel weak and stupid and pathetic.

Don’t hide. Be loud. Remind them. Don’t let them get a moment of respite from the crushing weight of ideas that come from people who actually give a shit.

I started it when Jordon Klepper starts to speak. He gives a really good idea of what he things they’re thinking and why. He’s a great source since he’s been interviewing them since the beginning. (37:21) https://youtu.be/oLoXaZoeCoE?t=2241

The rest of it is great too, but this deals with your question directly.

Humans are social creatures. Facts don’t matter. Emotions and social belonging matter. So people who are just immersed in trump-stuff are going to think it’s all normal and good, and reject contrary facts from the out group.

This is part of why right wing media is so dangerous. It feeds the in-group solidarity

For sure. He was a joke long before he ever got into politics. Only now he’s not funny anymore. What I can’t figure out is whether they genuinely believe he’s a good president, or the trolling level has gotten so good that we can’t even tell. Makes no material difference, but just thinking about it goves me a headache.

In 10 to 18 years, I bet Trump gets memory holed by the Republican Party, much like George W. Bush. They will move on, and they will try to pretend that Trump and MAGA had never existed.

The core of MAGA is Trump, and no one has been able to really duplicate it. And Trump is an old man who is already slowing down. There is no succession plan. I think the movement dies with him, maybe with his presidency. And then they pretend they never supported him.

Your mistake is thinking he is a president.

He’s a failed businessman, pedophile, turned traitor, turned conman, turned fascist dictator.

The US is not a democracy anymore, Americans should stop pretending it is and start thinking about their new lives

In a nutshell: Republicans are taking taxpayers’ money. Indirectly, but that’s what’s happening. GOP gov is making everyone buy fossil fuels, and GOP fossil fuel investors get that money through share value. Devious in so many ways.

I voted for the slob 3 times. He officially crossed the line this time. About 40 times. Fuck this guy, man. So much for “no more wars”… and quite literally every single other thing he promised. I’m used to that with presidents, but dang, man. He REALLY fumbled every ball, and he’s having them launched at him.

You now say, well whoops I guess, and expect “them” to welcome you with open arms? Nah, fuck every single last one of you fascist fucks, going to take some serious accountability measures before any of you are welcomed back into the what little remains of the civil society you helped torch.

I just don’t understand how any person could vote for him more than once. It wasn’t a secret that he is totally incompetent, spiteful and extremely stupid after just a couple days of him being in charge the first time. His first term was a clown show where he continuously fired his staff. If you somehow think he’s going too far only now, then frankly it says a lot about you and your lack of sense, empathy and political literacy.

His values have constantly shown that he is sexist, racist, greedy, slovenly and generally hateful. If you have voted for him three times, frankly, you probably are those things as well.

Also I kind of wish I would have voted the second time and that he would have won the first second time. So we would have only had 8 years of Trump instead of the +12 we are going to get.

I honestly wonder in what way you think the Democrats are worse than the Republicans. Even before Trump turned the Republicans into a clown show, it was the party of greed, selfishness and corruption. Bush lied to start a war with Iraq. Reagan destroyed the middle-class because rich people needed to get richer. They’ve supported wars for oil, lies about the environment, sinking people deeper into debt.

I completely agree that the Democrats are not always great, but at their worst, they’re almost as bad as the Republicans. Never worse. Everything bad they’ve done, the Republicans have done worse.

Can you explain what made you vote for him 3 times? Because that’s something I honestly don’t understand.

The first time I can understand. It was already known how corrupt he was, but most of the media ignored it and I can understand how you didn’t know. But surely after his first term, it must have been pretty clear what a terrible person he was? How corrupt he was?

Many members of his own cabinet, people who believed and supported him, spoke out against him. Mattis, McMaster, Tillerson, Pence, Bolton, Kelly and tons of others pointed out his incompetence, his corruption and his extremism.

I can forgive voting for him once, because you didn’t know. But 3 times!? How does that happen?

If this isn’t proof that modern day Republicans are part a cult, I don’t know what is. I mean, at the very least, Lincoln (stopped slavery), Teddy (inspiring teddy bears), and Reagan (powering the US economy) were better presidents than Trump (killing people during COVID).
