Our electoral system is rigged so that conservatives win by default - unless there’s a massive preference for the progressive candidate, and all those excited voters live in the right places. Otherwise liberals fucking love to find reasons not to vote.
It’s weird, the insane and regressive tend to be patriotic while the progressive tend to wait until their perfect candidate appear. This is true for my country as well, the people and the government are becoming more and more conservative because the progressive one being unreasonably perfectionist, they only vote to defeat the bad guy of the day.
Progressives have had to swallow centrist candidates for decades. It isn’t waiting for a perfect candidate: it is having any progressive candidate face the collective ire of their own corporate backed party.
Like this is about to be the fourth presidential ticket in five cycles containing the name Joe Biden.
