What stops the students from renouncing the protests (under duress) and then just getting back into them once they have degrees?

Although, I’d like to think that any student who defies NYU’s demands will fare much better in the long run than a university that kowtows to facists

I’d just put that shit on my resume and state that it’s revoked and why. Whatever kind of employer would look down on that is not someone they will want to work for anyway.

Put it on your resume and don’t say anything.

I’ve not heard of too many employers really going through the effort to verify most degrees, although that likely changes the higher up the academic tree you get. I only have a bachelors and I’ve never had it actually verified.

What stops the students from renouncing the protests (under duress) and then just getting back into them once they have degrees?

Probably the fact that if the NYU staffers pushing this are any smart, they’ll withhold the degrees for a few weeks (maybe even months) after the exam or until the protests die down anyway. Sure, they’re bound to do something incredibly stupid right after, but they’ve got what they’ve got.

What jewish people? Are you talking about the zionists? The can just go back to their actual homes in nyc, europe, russia, asia, africa, etc. Nobody is forcing them to invade palestine, murder everybody, and steal the land.

It’s anti-semitic to conflate judaism with zionism. No surprise that’s your MO.

When you only support civilians in Palestine and not civilians in both countries, yeah, that dog whistle is pretty obvious.

Huh, funny. Becuase 2 million Palestinians live in the Gaza strip, 50,000 already dead by the Isreali offensive and Isreal’s government wants to completely wipe them all out or, at minimum, ethnically cleanse the area. So what does that make the Isreali government then?

Hamas are violent terrorists whose goals are evil. They should not be tolerated. But even by Isreal’s estimates, btw, Hamas has around 16-18,000 soldiers now, and had between 20-30,000 before the offensive started in 2023. So, AT MINIMUM 36,000 civilians or those unassociated with Hamas have been killed. They’re not killing Hamas. They’re killing everything in their way. That’s murder, not defense. That’s genocide, not war.

How many are dead in Israel?

How many would be dead in Israel if not for the Iron Dome?

How many of those dead in Palestine are dead by the hands of Hamas?

How many people have Hamas recruited since the Oct 7th massacre?

It’s amazing how you only care about civilians in Gaza, not Israel. Your dog whistle is so incredibly obvious, it’s ridiculous

What part of Hamas is evil and shouldn’t be tolerated did you not understand or ignore. Their actions are inexcusable as is their goals for Isreal. I do not want the Isreali people nor the Palestinian people to be killed or live in fear. Peace should be the goal. I do understand that that is far easier said than done and Isreali lives are under constant threat too, to some degree.

But no amount of evil from Hamas excuses the evil of Netanyahu’s genocide either. They are acting with callus disregard for human life, with violent fervor that mows everything down in their wake, even if their stated goal is 100 percent justified. We also cannot forget that there is plenty of prejudice and bigotry on both sides, and that plays no small part in the actions taken by many soldiers. There are no winners here, no good guys. There are just victims and victimizers. Stop pretending that a massacre is righteous. It is not.

The fact is, BOTH sides are fully committed to nothing less than the total annihilation of the other side. They both support genocide, its just that Israel has more weapons and richer friends, so they are winning.

In reality, neither POLITICAL side deserves respect. Unfortunately, it is the innocents on both sides that feel the consequences the most.

Where does that put someone like me, who is pro-People, but anti-Both Political Sides?

Do you accept a position that states Hamas commits evil and Israel commits evil? Both must stop atrocities?

I have yet to see any pro-Hamas supporters, but maybe I don’t get around enough. In your view, is it possible to be pro-Palestine and anti-Hamas?

                I certainly don’t.

Reactionaries don’t think you and I should have rights. They want to restructure society to permanently install themselves as a superior class over the people they hate, and they’re way too dumb to realize that they’re also on the list of people who will be subjugated if their dreams came true.

They have a set of values that is inherently antisocial, and they have no place in a free and equal society.

Yeah I had a right-wing friend who called me a nazi on facebook. Later he started texting me saying he was sorry and didn’t mean it. That was one of the last straws. Dude was always a prick but he became absolute fash as an adult. Unfriended.

But ofc I wouldn’t genocide dude or put him in a concentration camp. That’s literally what his gross team is doing.
