Schumer is a fascist collaborator. He facilitates Israeli fascism. He facilitates Republican fascism.

I have zero confidence that Klonuchar represent any departure from the exact cowardice and capitulation that democrats seemingly always practice and has resulted in a fascist takeover.

I’d like to take this opportunity to express the profoundly tragic failure of Democrats to mount any kind of meaningful opposition to this fascist project, that has been underway since at least the Reagan administration.

Honestly, I’ve read this piece by Josh Marshal three times now and I’m not sure what he’s trying to claim. Is he saying that the fascist overreach by the federal government, of sending troops into states to terrorize citizens, isn’t too worrisome because the feds are still articulating a law-based justification for doing it? That is to say, if they are still winking at the idea of doing ‘laws’, then the violence they are escalating won’t go too far. Am I interpreting that wrong?

If that’s what Josh as actually saying, this is ridiculous liberal cope from an ideology that only values process and not principle. Look everyone, trump signed the forms in the right places, so you don’t have to worry about his goons cracking your kids’ skulls. Oh, elections happen on the state level, and the federal government is still referencing states as an entity in their bogus law fare filings, so we’re still okay.

It’s precisely this kind of pedantic, legalistic, and frankly cowardly worldview that has kept the Democrats from mounting any kind of substantive opposition to the Republicans’ fascist project for 40 years. Some things actually aren’t that complex.

And, they’ll vote for him again anyway (or whatever the equivalent future action is) because it’s a death cult.

Oh stop it. Are you actually claiming that you can’t characterize the culture of a nation of people, claiming that there is NO prevailing common beliefs? That’s nonsense. Your objection to the question is just a permission structure for some of the terrible things that Americans tend to believe and provides way more deference to a group that, based on their collective actions for centuries, don’t deserve it.

Can we talk about the tragic irony of a US government that is both hoisting up as virtuous heroes the protesters in Iran who are fighting brutally tyrannical oppressors, all while brutally oppressing US citizens in an attempt to kickstart their own tyranny?

This rally cry (to dismantle DHS) sounds exactly like the kind of popular policy position the Democrats always take when they are out of power. Then, when we give them the power to act, they refuse to implement it (usually in service of some nonsense like “mending”, “coalition building”, or “returning to normalcy”).
