I briefly worked for a plumber during my college days to make money. He said the people who kept him in business were people who poured grease down the drain and also people who flushed tampons.

They are born sad, they die sad, so I just wanted to make the whole world sad'49·5 days agoI guess people aren’t all that familiar with the world of Cyberpunk 2020/2077 if anyone expected any type of happy ending. Cybering yourself inevitably leads to cyber psychosis, with no exceptions. Even Adam Smasher is rated as a “high functioning cyberpsycho”, and may be unique in that category. Getting into a gunfight is rarely survivable, black ice will flatline you eventually, and brain dance addiction comes for everyone else.
Ketchup on onion rings? Right to jail, right away.
uid0gid0@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's something you immediately judge a person for when you see them wearing or have?1·21 days agoHow to recognize a true believer, from Matthew 7:16-20:
16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

It was simply the first example found of what cane to be known as the Decree of Memphis. It was required to be put in every temple. I think the rally of these stones is up to six currently.
You’re thinking too modern. We need to go back before Eternal September

One example is if you’re traveling southbound on I-75 the exit to Canada is shared with Vernor hwy, a major street in Detroit. Taking this exit, you can actually see the bridge to Canada on your left. However the exit splits at that point and you have to take the right lane to go to Canada. There is only one sign telling you this so if you miss it and are in the wrong lane you’re going to Canada. No other option at that point
Another example of this is Egyptian pharaoh Akhenaten who tried to get the Egyptians to worship only one good. The priests and pharaohs after him went to great lengths to erase his name
If we’re talking home use, you can buy enterprise switches for less than $100 on the secondary market. I got a 1GB PoE 24 port managed switch for $35.
Are you the guy Sting wrote the song about?

I’ve encountered my share of people closing their eyes and thinking of England. Never took it past the initial stages with them and never once did any of them engage in such a conversation.

Marvel is very strict about who is and who isn’t a mutant (unless you’re talking about Franklin Richards, but that is a whole other discussion). To be an official “mutant” in marvel comics you have to be born with the X-factor in your genes that lets your powers express naturally. External forces like gamma radiation, radioactive spiders, cosmic rays, DNA manipulation, etc make you a mutate, not a mutant.
If Mirage/Image comics had anything to do with Marvel, you might have a point.
Meanwhile the X-men have been around since the 1960s exploring all kinds of stories about how the greater population treats mutants. Including the recurring stories of Mageto’s “We are better than them Charles” while Professor X is like “can’t we all get along?”
