I think you’re right about the pre-populated codes. I don’t think they do user verification at runtime. That would hurt the self-checkout experience even more - their app is already painfully slow. But as the author said, stupid decisions have been made.

Very underrated IMO. It has been a while since I last used it but I recall it was super light and snappy - even compared to other more well-known lightweight alternatives. It was definitely a pleasant experience. Happy to see it still going strong.

It’s A1, not A1 Mini, that is prone to the issue. They have different structural designs.

It would’ve been a great opportunity to do what many European governments are now doing, reducing the reliance on US tech companies. Instead, they decided to do the exact opposite.
