I just want to see more nerds and less ideological fetishism.
I just want to see more nerds and less ideological fetishism.
that’s really just more of a fixation.
bingo.
the definition of childhood, emotional immaturity etc, is the failure to recognize the world beyond your immediate emotions
growing up is realizing the world exists beyond your immediate needs and feelings.
and it’s terrifying when adults lack that ability.
most people don’t care about any of that. they are more focused on the local sports team, their schedule at work, their kids sports games and a million other things.
i mean you can grandstand all you want about it… but it won’t ever change those people’s minds. they have other shit to worry about that federal politics, which is largely background noise to them.
your error is thinking other people think about politics like you do. they don’t. they don’t think about it at all.
Not really.
You have realize COVID basically screwed ps5 for 2-3 years. The system is 5 years old, but effectively was only available since '23.
It’s a really well crafted film.
Content puts a lot of people off though. Anyone I ever showed it to loses it at the mutating dogs and they won’t keep watching and gets very offended and starts thinking I’m some anti-dog psycho.
because they love the social skills and charisma. and don’t forget the looks/image.
they don’t care about the quality of the leadership. most folks would gladly follow a charming person to their own doom.
being a leader sucks.
i have had mulitple leadership roles in my life. i grew to hate everyone was so happy when i went back to being a grunt.
it’s a shitty thankless job and everyone blames you for their mistakes and you’re allowed to make none of your own.
hence why most people who end up leaders are the ones who are skilled at avoiding accountability and blaming others, purposefully inverting the leadership role.
i typically only became a leader because nobody else was willing to stand up. and the second you do stand up… everyone else starts resenting you and trying to tear you down.
Yeah it’s conspicuous consumption.
Just like Middle class people try to show off money/status buy having luxury cars.
yep. they don’t like being questioned or doubted. especially so if they are spouting bullshit and lies.
it isn’t.
but people interpret it that way. because it’s not ‘friendly’ to ask questions or be skeptical. people typically get angry if you ask them why they do something… and they regard your blind acceptance of them as positive.
speak for yourself.
I live in Cambridge MA. one of the smartest/richest places on the planet. Lots of people are stupid here and anxious and exhausted even making 300-400K a year and living lives of luxury and privilege.
the crux of it is they are just selfish jerks who don’t care about anyone else and are supremely overconfident about how genius they are… and that arrogance makes them incredibly gullible and stupid when a charming personality tries to convince them that vaccines cause autism. and their biggest complaint about their lives is that they don’t have more luxury and privledge and that they are actually ‘struggling’ in life because they can’t afford to charter jets and have to ‘suffer’ first class plane travel.
it’s not about smart vs stupid. it’s about skeptical vs gullible.
plenty of very smart people are gullible. and most people are gullible because it’s ‘nice’.
most of us who are skeptical are see as cold, mean, and anti-social. hence to be pro-social you have to be ‘stupid’ and believe in the nonsense everyone else is going on about.
there are lgbt people who are right wing
it makes them feel special/superior.
people are addicted to those feelings
stupidity and laziness
That and stop having kids at 35+.
But that’s not socially acceptable to say.
because it’s something people don’t understand but desperately want to ‘solve’.
so you can leverage it to manipulate them. most of the anti-autism stuff is less about autism and more about controlling sad people who desperately want answers and feel ‘victimized’ by autisms existence
The problem is therapy isn’t a catch all for all your problems in life.
People have over generalized it. Therapy works best if it’s applied like physical therapy… identify the problem and go through the exercises to deal with the problem…
but that requires a skilled therapist and patient… and often one/both parties are neither of those things. some therapists and clients develop codependency.
ultimately however, the work is done by the person. and a lot of people dont’ want to do the work.
it feels like early reddit. a lot of the same style and content. and a lot of replies in threads that are trying way too hard to be edgelordy but just seem crude and naive.
