I tend to like 1.2x. I want to enjoy it, but audiobook narrators talk very slowly for clarity. If I listen that slow I tend to get distracted.

That sounds fantastic!
I’m a coffee scrub. What I make tastes great, but only because I add stuff to it. I use a cheap-ass espresso machine, pull three shots worth, pour it over some ice, add some benefiber (flavorless powder, just adds fiber to stuff) and some flavoring (right now I’m rocking an horchata mix), then some oatmilk, then shake to mix it.
This doesn’t take 15 minutes, but it takes a lot longer than it should because I’m usually making breakfast at the same time. The ritual is quite relaxing though.
This isn’t the one I have, but something like this.

They have a good product in their VPN+Meshnet, but it wouldn’t have nearly the broad appeal it does if they were honest about it.

World News@lemmy.world•Trump, breaking with Netanyahu, acknowledges ‘real starvation’ in GazaEnglish
57·3 months agoMy parents’ conservative bubble of news has informed them that the starvation is because Hamas shoots at Palestinians who try to get aid.
(I told them, “Wow, so Hamas and the IDF have something in common?”)
Some of my friends and I in a D&D campaign managed to talk our way out of so many encounters, and heist our way through so many quests, that we started calling ourselves Ocean’s Five. It was some of the most fun I’ve had in that game, improving our way through heists and getting away with it.
Let me be a chainmail scrubber evangelist. These things are fantastic, like steel wool that doesn’t fall apart. Safe for most things (though I wouldn’t use it on non-stick cause you’ll ruin the teflon). Easy as hell to wash, cause it’s stainless steel.
Get you a stainless steel chainmail scrubber. Don’t use it on non-stick cause you’ll ruin the teflon coating, but on everything else it’s wonderful, like steel wool that doesn’t fall apart.
Something like this, although personally I prefer a more fine chain.

15·3 months agoI can understand that you don’t have those in Canada, but there should be other options right? Maybe contact support?
I think you’re on the verge of understanding the problem. You’re so close. Just trust that the guy you’re replying to isn’t an idiot and you’ll finally understand.
Sure in the Netherlands you have options. But other places aren’t the Netherlands. Different countries have different options, but Visa, MasterCard, and PayPal work pretty much everywhere.
Edit: Completely unrelated, I’m munching on some licorice Mentos I found in the Dutch section of my local grocery store here in West Michigan, and I just want to thank the entire population of the Netherlands for the wonderful things y’all have done with licorice. No one likes it here, so no one bothered. But the variety your country comes up with for this stuff, it’s fantastic.
I use em dashes…I think it’s sad that a proper grammatical construct is so thoroughly ignored by most people that now it’s a sign of inhumanity.
Don’t you think it is a bit harsh to accuse people who doesn’t like musicals of being sociopaths?
That’s a wild misinterpretation of what I said.
There are plenty of reasons not to like musicals. The songs ruin immersion for some people, the format is cheesy, the acting is over the top, the plots are almost always formulaic. The description of them as “an empathy-based drug” doesn’t mean someone who doesn’t like them doesn’t experience empathy. It’s such a leap from what I said that I feel like you’d have to actively try to misunderstand me to get that.

I’m sorry. I know everyone’s tastes are different, but I can’t help but feel kinda bad for people who don’t appreciate musicals. They’re like an empathy-based drug. “Here, experience some emotional highs and lows for a couple of hours.”
