I’m sitting here really hoping that models hit a plateau in capabilities soon. Continuing to get smaller/more efficient would be great, but if the capabilities of our best models would plateau for a bit and give society time to adjust to the impact I would be very happy.
Growing up half Japanese I could never help laughing at that story as chinchin means penis in Japanese, and I think everyone should share in this amusement.
People also seem to be completely brushing off him having a cold like it was just some campaign lie. To me that’s exactly what he looked like: completely out of it from being sick. I get like that when I’m ill and I’m not even half his age. Given his campaign events and state of the union have not been the same it seems pretty clear to me that it wasn’t simply him being old unless I’m missing something.
There have been times in my life when I would have fled, and times in my life when I would have fought. Never for the idea of country, but certainly for the people in the country. I’m a middle aged American woman and having no family anymore, I have considered fighting for the families of Ukraine. Though not too seriously and I don’t even know if they’d take me
I’ve never heard of Logan Paul before and I think I’m going to not look them up and stay blissfully unaware of who they are.
Oh damn, thanks for letting me know. I got the alert saying they were in settings when I opened up keychain and assumed they were permanently moved not like “hey you can also find them there”. Great news, I much prefer the keychain app.
Seems off to me. On Mac they abandoned the standalone keychain app in favor of the settings app just last year (IIRC). Why would they turn around and go in the opposite direction so soon after that?
For me it’s camera shops. I love old film equipment and there’s some amazing stores.
Great food, too. One side of my family is from Amagasaki so I’ve spent way more time in Osaka than other places in Japan. Great city.
Yep, he lived many more years, died at 10 of cancer. Miss him a lot, he was a great escape artist with such a big personality.
I was living above the 15th floor of a building in one of the poorer parts of NYC. I heard my bunny thump and run to the bathroom, and was really confused as he never acted that way.
A few minutes later I see smoke pouring around the door frame and tons of fire trucks outside (I found out later it was a 5 alarm fire). Was sure I was gonna die, so I texted my ex (we were still close) that I loved her and then sat around calmly waiting for death. Eventually FDNY grabbed me out of my unit, and ran me downstairs. Two people across the hallway and someone in the unit above them died.
Yeah, I was thinking about the same sorts of things. I think ounces are okay but not great. I cook a lot and have a good intuitive grasp on fl oz, but I’m not sure everyone does here. I wish we had a good unit bigger than miles/kilometers to use with liters/gallons. Leagues are still too small and megameters are too big, but both of those have the advantage of sounding awesome… and disadvantage of not being commonly used.
OPM (Ounces per mile) seems to work out to nice numbers. A gas guzzler might use 13 OPM, where as a decently efficient sedan would be around 3. Plus we can keep our ridiculous American units, just the way we like them.
You’re right, acid is the enemy of seasoning, not soap. I do use soap on my cast iron sometimes, but mostly not because my normal method is to rinse and wipe the pan then put back on heat to dry and use the remaining oil to help keep the seasoning up and the soap would strip that thin layer.
I wouldn’t have expected dishwashing detergent to be acidic which is why I expected it to not be so bad. Also I don’t mind fixing a seasoning every now and then so I’m still pretty tempted.
I cook mostly in cast iron and have never attempted this, but I imagine a decently seasoned pan would survive pretty unscathed, wouldn’t it? I have the sudden urge to try.
Agree completely with your sentiment.
I’m also curious how on earth this human didn’t understand that buying a cybertruck would bring him a ton of attention.
One game breaking bug on a playthrough is still pretty bad.
I always feel like my code is the best in personal projects when I don’t need to conform to whatever style and architecture has been decided on by history and committee.
It’s certainly not moving as fast as their promises (what ever does), and perhaps has slowed, but for me at least it’s too early to call a plateau. Perhaps someone who works in the field or follows more closely can provide a better characterization, though.
