sometimes its more important to stay true to ones principles than winning whatever game is being played.

There are no such thing as fellow passengers, only foe passengers.

66·29 days agoI disagree. Leaving someone with trauma, versus leaving someone in a life or death situation is quite different I’d say.

Technology@lemmy.world•75% More Pedestrians Have Been Killed Since 2009. Giant Trucks and SUVs Are WhyEnglish
4·1 month agoYou have it backwards. Larger vehicles of course have more energy, but pedestrians are too light for that to make a difference.
If you get hit by an oil tanker ship going ~1 kmh, that ship has orders of magnitude more kinetic energy than a car at highway speed, yet, unless theres a wall or something, the ship will merely push you harmlessly aside.
Its about the manner of delivery, not the vehicles energy.
Larger cars are more dangerous because they hit you higher up, where you have more vital organs.

Technology@lemmy.world•75% More Pedestrians Have Been Killed Since 2009. Giant Trucks and SUVs Are WhyEnglish
7·1 month agoI agree, large cars are generally much more lethal to pedestrians, due to their shape, not kinetic energy.

Thats mostly false in my experience, though that will depend on the locality i guess. On the contrary, a lot of garden plants are invasive in the local ecosystem
