Not a 1 day read but reasonably short (I normally read it in about 2-3 days of non-dedicated reading) is the Scorpio races by Maggie stiefvater. It’s a lovely read that focuses pretty heavily on the two man characters which is what draws me in every time. I read this book 14 times one year in high school and I continue to read it once a year
Idk if I noticed that explicitly but I would believe it. The grenade throws early game are also disgusting. Pixel perfect hit your whole team lol
I’ve been immensely impressed with DOS2 AI. If an enemy is sleeping, another enemy will use part of its turn to hit the enemy to wake it up. There were several instances where I paused and just stared awestruck
Good to know! I’ll add it to the ever growing list
Is the rest of the series good? I read the first one and thought it was pretty good but a reasonably well wrapped up story by the end
Book 4 is a bit slow but it picks up a lot after that.
That said don’t feel obligated to read something that Doesn’t interest you of course
Pain to me is not really that important a metric. Figure out where you think it’ll bring you the most joy. Most of mine are reasonably visible and I’m very glad for it. Tattoos are much less stigmatized than before.
As for durability, as long as you take good care of it while it heals and you wear sun screen after, most places other than hands and feet will likely do well. Less sun the better but that makes them hard to look at most of the time.
I use semimak mainly but use qwerty often and I feel like there’s no problem with using both at all. This is just my experience though. When I first learned Dvorak and dropped qwerty I completely lost qwerty but it came back really easily later when I started using it more
My issue with the silo trilogy is the end kinda drags on a little bit and you’re just waiting for it to come. Otherwise I really like those books. There’s also a show Thats Apparently really good too!
The Kensington expert looks huge! I’m not sure I can justify getting one lol. Good to know this exists though if I decide to go down this route
How does using a trackball feel? Ive been thinking about maybe getting one but I mostly like my mouse.
Does it feel more ergonomic or is it mostly just less distance to the mouse?
I have windows and linux on different drives and windows killed my bootloader this week anyway lol
Perhaps other people have said it but this is the quote I’m familiar with:
“The problem with defending the purity of the English language is that English is about as pure as a cribhouse whore. We don’t just borrow words; on occasion, English has pursued other languages down alleyways to beat them unconscious and rifle their pockets for new vocabulary.”

This is an awesome post. Thank you for sharing it. I really appreciated reading your comments, and I hope you’re doing well
I originally was looking for a hardshell case but stumbled on this while looking. I’m very pleased personally for my lily58. https://www.moderncoup.com/product-category/keyboard-sleeves-carry-cases/split-keyboard-carry-cases/
That seemed like a lot of hurdles to have jumped through but I’m glad you stick with it and that you’re enjoying it.
I originally thought people were crazy for using 40% boards, but with home row mods I’m now using 34 keys and I would never go back to using a standing row stag 60% again lol.
Welcome to the ergo split club, and the months of tinkering with your layout until it works the best for you :)
If you’re feeling up for doing practice, doing more complex word sets (English 1k-5k for example) will probably yield better results. I find that practice only really shows meaningful results the next day at the earliest once you get past probably around 60wpm.
As to using fewer keys, I’m down to 34 keys for my main layout (still using a regular 60% for gaming), and if it’s something you want to explore, I can’t recommend it enough. It’s been a super great experience and I basically don’t move my hands/fingers anymore. If you want some extra inspiration for a layout, I’d be happy to share mine with you.
Glad to hear you’re still enjoying it. Keep it up man
How fast were you before and how much practice are you putting in? And where are you at now? I hope you’re enjoying the journey :)
I thought manuals were a type of car transmission
