But i am like WTF america ? I knew the poverty is on the rise and the education is not as good as other countries. (you absolutely have very very very good school but for the 0.1% only. For the majority of the population, they get by with what they can get and some schools are better then other. Feel free to shit on me on that, it is nothing more than an accumulation of little thing and i hope for nothing more to be wrong)

For example, in belgium, whatever school you graduate from, they are equivalent. You can acces university. A year of university cost less than a 1000€. If you are from a poor family, you can ask to pay lower and/or have funds to help your children learn. Plus every diploma you got should be valid in the whole EU (is not 100% true yet) (well right wing politicians are like “this cost too much” and “our kids are stupider and stupider, lets privatize schools” … maybe it will not be so good anymore)

Ok poverty is on the rise you read less, housing crisis make people anxious, anxious peoples do not stop to read a long book, Covid confinement basicly put everyone in prison for some years, yeah it has traumatic effect including trouble to focus and reading. Peoples have more and more stuff to do, they do not have time to read anymore, they overburdened themself (free fuck the grindset) They are anxious, burdened, poor and stressed, tiktok offer an easy, no stress, passive way to distract yourself from the world. • once you achieved a basic level of literacy (you can read on your own a big book) and know how to resume and select relevant information (those are tested skill) well reading more does not significantly improve anything.
• The education crisis in lots of skils like math, chemistry, french, history and skills like critical thinking, empathy, understanding, etc is more linked to the size of class, the lack of funding for school, the desperate state of our scholing infrastructure, the teachers that very badly paid, etc It is more of an issue of the system and the mean than just reading. But again, put such system in question like “why learning basic and absolutely necessary skills to people should be subject to capitalist competition” ? Why would that make any sense ?

they read books, book tiktok is a thing. Youtuber as well. They read journal articles online or otherwise, they text each other so… they read same for social media. Audiobook is on the rise. In my book it count as reading a book. You are aware of each line of content of the book.

The most “kids don’t read anymore” come from politicians that attribute the closure of library to young people instead of amazon, policies that does not protect or recognize librarians, etc.

I passionate myself for french politics. Some right politician (they could be considered leftist by some American standard) want less paid annual leave. It is very unpopular and it need extraordinary constant popular démonstration to not pass that thing.

The french have these thing because the resistance during the war asked for such things and more at the end of the war. They have it because of mass strike, popular démonstration, etc.

It is NOT a fixed thing. And french politicians are not good listener, sometimes, they just do whatever they want. For example the when a cops use his gun, they had to justify and prove the use of strength. A recent law changed that. The cops using his gun is his right. It is up to the victim to prove that it was not appropriate. The law is dubbed “license to kill” by the opposition. An extraordinary petition was signed in a very short time. It passes anyway.

No country is better than another. Power and greed go well together. France still have social security, paid annual leave, not getting shot by cops for no reason. But it is always a “for now”!

It is the election season, some candidats campaign for better, far far better than they have but… they are dubed extreme left (to the disarray of actual leftist revolutionary parties). Methods of discredit are the same. Helping others start with yourself and end with everyone.

You could even expand on that. DNA is the blueprint (genotype). However you are talking about life, and life will find a way to live to the best of its abilities. Let’s dig on that:

• imagine your original dog lacked some nutrients at some point, it may seem minor, ridiculous even but the expression of some sub-recipe could not activate properly during growth. So the recipe(genotype) was there but did not complete. The result (phenotype) is different.

• Life is alive. Lots of things are active, well everything. Ex: for black and white cats, the black spots are due to hot spot on the body. So if you shave your cat, cover some area, it will grow black instead of white.

• Plus you are assuming that the same blueprint, the same conditions give the same results. When replicating cells make mistakes that could radically change behavior, physical appearance, health conditions,etc

The last is more philosophical and less sciency. The more you love a companion, the greater the loss. You regret everything that will be no more. Loss is an expression of the care you gave each other and you still give to each other. It was and is an existence that impacts and affects you.

The pain is so unbearable that it crush to dust the “is it possible to do this” part of your reasoning. It obliterates the “should i do this”. And finally it even makes you miss the “should my companion would want that”.

It is the thing that i find ugly.The lack of consent. Without consent, There is no care, no love. Due to a different circumstances, i was forced to have an interest in politics. I was center right in europe. I like evidence backed claims. Efficient policies, and damn the left is very good at that. I needed to kill a lot of internalized concept because they were factually wrong. ( war on drugs, VIH, abortion, ecology, tax break, housing, privacy, etc)

I then became very anti-capitalist and communism became quite an attractive solution. The more strict the better ! REVENGE!!!

• the communist party in my country is well know for having trouble to recognize Ouïghours slavery and … what the fuck the name of the amount of suffering is imposed onto them is called.

• It is a very hierarchical structure, there is no pluralism, no nuance, no differents proposition to a problem, no diversity -> hey that look a lot like stalin or a sect

• We will work better and faster and stronger when we will own the means of production, we will work more when we rise to power as we are proud. What is the meaning of work ? why work ? who want to work ? (andrewsim “who want to be working class”)

• Still fixed hierarchy, still stupidly bureaucratic.Still cops, still prison, still kinda monarchic work structure, still not singing the full original international song (they left out some verse that are very anti-war and anti-autority)

• Tend to sweep gender identity, neurodivergence, religions, beliefs, critical thinking under the rug for “cohesion”. Use fear and proudness to so. One solution fit all and everything. I understand the appeal. Everything is simple and homogeneous,you are part of the group, the goal is clear, just follow the leader kind of thing. -> hey wtf isn’t this like the religious sect maga ? or far right activists? yeah obviously they are going in different direction but the sect method looked the same.

Since i challenged myself to use as must as open-source software as possible, i am mad at the quality and potential that is found in foss versus proprietary. I hate ads, subscription, login in so my info can be sold, so that i can be called 4/5 time a day to sell me stupid crap.

I wanted to see what kind of software was in use in Minneapolis during the resistance against ice, the only in-depth account of such niche info i could access was crimetheinc (anarchist website)

I looked around, they have a podcast called the ex-worker. Quite funny to listen to that while commuting to work.

At work (IT), i could literally increase the productivty of at least myself by a 100 in a secure way if able to. (ansible, key based security, etc) But no, workload keep increasing, no ability to organise my work, forced to do the stupidest stuff ever cause, because. And all the time, i am responsible if anything happen. Both expert and inexperienced grunt. Verbal,moral abuse as well. Yeah burnout before 30. 100% work related, certified fresh.

Funny enough, i became the ex-worker.

The thing that helped me was of course a supportive as hell significant other, doctor, psychologist and friends that lived,live or will be in the same situation as me… Lots of them, it is quite scary, across lots of fields.

And “stories of monk and robot” of becky chamber. While not explicitly anarchist, it does fit the bill very well and describe a futur worth fighting for.

easy, anarchy is no unjust hierarchy. So to convert X to anarchy, you remove the subordination principe. If the task need a boss, make it temporary and rotate often. Share knowledge and ideas. Make sure everybody is having the best time it could under the conditions we are in.

Sure you can be a filthy filthy radical and open source the machines, vulgarise the jobs and how to use the tools. Decorate the wall with slogans like “justice for all”. Bring diverse peoples to the fab and see solutions to problems you never accounted for emerge.
