The only thing thats debatable is less crime.

But other than that? Waaahoo!

(also this isnt mine. I stole this)

Yeah, historically crime was not lower in relation to population unless you go back to the point before the concept of “crime” existed, although obviously even other animals have things they punish each other for.

Imagine thinking the Wild West or the Medieval Ages were some kind of utopia.

O feel that a problem with humams is that they tend to remember some oof the ‘utopian’ aspects of certain times or eras but then block from their logical faculties the other abhorrent aspects of that time.

So for the Middle Ages and the Wild West there were the ‘utopian’ aspects of there being less people and more spaced out communities therefore more frequent contact with other close humans, closer knit communities and closer friendships were mandatory cause you had nobdoy else to turn to during those times… ((But is should also be noted that closer knit communities were a good thing for some but a terrible thing for others. There is. the problem of cultish thinking amongst the people youre stuck with. If you were with a gay partner back then a closer knit community of nosy busybodies could infiltrate into your liives deeper and more frequently and burn you two at the stake or turn you and them into pariahs back then. Tough Fucking LuckButterCup “YoU sHouLndT hAve BeEn GaY” they probably said to you and your partner as they kicked you out of town. Also there is the glaring problem of ass holes. Assholes have always existed and probably always will. If you have nobody to communicate with but assholes cause everyone else lived too far away amd the population of your region was low? Tough Fucking Luck Buttercup, shouldnt have gotten spawn camped by assholes !)

But for the Medieval Ages there were many needless wars and genocides that the rich and their monarchs conscripted young people to go and die in ‘For The Church! For Your Nation! For Your God! To Repent Your Sins!’ (…YES! Destroying the homes and livelihoods of innocent civilians is how you ‘repent’ for a sin according to them …😐) Heck during the Crusades there were documented times christians genociding OTHER christians. Same with the Muslism during their Caliphates. The capabilities to commit mass murder back in those days were nothing comopared to what the rich have access to nowadays, yea, but genocides and needless wars were far more commom then than now.

And of cours ewith the Wild West there was the genocide of millions of Indigenous peoples and Mexicans and the theft of their land and their women and children. The Slave Trade was also publicly advertised back then and soke goverrnments even took part in the stealing and selling of Indigenous, African, Asian, and even European slaves during that time. (Wellllll technically there are still slaves nowadays but its seen as an abhorrent practice by most people with common sense)

In terms of ethnicity he notion of European and Asian slaves was largely a myth. European indentured servants existed, and Asain communities faced harsh treatment and isolation, but slavery was for almost all of US History the racial slavery of African descent and was written as such in laws both federal and in the front page of all 3 major Confederate constitutions.

Barbar pirates that took american and european soldiers and enslaved them, no?

Also …there were Asian slaves… no? Tibet before 1949 was pretty much a state ran by aristocratic monks who turned the poorest Tibetans into their own personal slaves.

Back them it was mostly Asians who enslaved other Asians in Asia. Even nowadays Indians, Rohingya, Sri Lankan, and Bengali people are routinely lured in with the promise of easy , high-paying work in the Gulf states then trapped as slaves in pretyy much all the gulf states other than Yemen. I think that abour half the population of some Gulf states are just trapped workers. Theres also still back-alley debt slavery in India too today.

I’m with you on this one. I don’t think the crime thing really correlates, but lower populations could make this world so amazing to live in.

I actually feel that time will tell us the answer to this question.

Because back in the far past (like over 100 years ago) nd thorough reporting on crime was present in some places but non-existent in others.

Nowdays most regions keep track of their crime rate in some type of way. Some pleaces dont keep track of exactly what crimes are committed but they simply report that 'XYZ and ABC persons committed a crime together on so-and-so date . Other places not only keep track of the type of crime committed bu t also of the chosen gender, traumatic childhood experiences, height , ethnicity, and weight of ALL the caught offenders

So if in 60 years when the populations decreases substantially if we see that the reported and convicted crime rate per 1000 people has declined on most parts of the world then we can conclude that one of the reasons could be closer knit communities.

However the only way we could definitely determine if lower crime rate correlates with closely knit communities then we would have to ask those who were caught committing a crime now and in the future what motivated them to commit that crime AND we would have to ask those who testified to wanting to commit a crime whythey didnt commit that crime. And if one of the major reasons given then and now centre around ‘having close friends who helped me out financially when I was down on my luck’ , ‘or being part of a community that diverted my desire’ , or ‘not wamting to paint my community or my loved ones as despicable’ , or things like that then we could definitely prove that the two correlate.
