Hey China, give us more international contemporary films dismantling imperialist narratives like this please!
Film is called Once Upon a Time in the Middle East btw.
Dang I’m going to have to find a way to get my hands on this one. Odds of it coming to Colombian cinemas are basically nil
ha, it didn’t even occur to me look since it was just released. how is there already a web rip
It’s been out for a couple months
Just finished watching it, it’s very good.
Also, maybe bring some tissues
I would expect. The director’s other film, Trying to Survive that she mentions is also very emotional, especially the ending. Very great film.
It’s really not a ‘sad’ film overall, but it definitely has some really heavy hitting emotional moments as well as the general subject matter being just so heavy
It also has very funny moments and they never feel like calculated comedic relief, more like a well-earned breather from all the tension
i grabbed it
wife is on board so well watch it soon
I also just finished watching it, the intense action scenes are done very well and the portrayal of the american soldiers made them to be terrifying which is always a fresh change of pace compared to the protagonization of warmongers.
The editing can be corny and simplistic at points but the emotional tragedy of the film is well done, especially the montage with the burning egg in the last act of the film.
The food montages are also 10/10 yummy would eat with my eyes again.
