We do this during shows, especially if we’re on a later season. I haven’t legit binge watched anything in years, I’m breaking hour-long episodes in half most of the time.

This drives me nuts if I am also watching the movie for the first time.
But I love rewatching movies and happy to pause and talk about the plot on the 2nd+ watch.
However I do make a rule that under no circumstances will the conversation be “Who is that actor? What else are they in?” Plot discussions only!
