This animation is so distracting, the hair, the constipated looks on the characters faces, the weird camera angles… how is this studio still around? How have I been able to avoid their content for so long? This is my first time watching their work.

I’m pretty sure they’ve gotten worse over time. Or at least, I don’t remember K and Coppelion as being quite this bad (and I did make it to the end of both). Anyway, a fair chunk of their output has been for K, Mardock Scramble, or Seitokai Yakuindomo, so if you avoided those three, it isn’t too surprising you’ve never come across them before.

Thanks for the hints. I was deciding if I was going to watch this once I finally catch up on Welcome to Demon School Iruma.

Piggybacking off of this, the pacing is just so slow. They do a lot of stalling, and recap the same scene twice to kill time. Thinking the manga experience might be more enjoyable for this one

story had promise. character development is lacking. animation feels stitched with AI.

the worst part? the first 5 minutes of every episode is recap and intro. the last 5 minutes is credits and teaser. the middle has a 1-3 minute commercial break recap. so that leaves roughly 15 minutes of mediocre content.

If I was the mangka, I’d be shitting in someone’s bento.

This is how you extend what I suspect is only 18-20 episodes worth of story to fill 26. 🙄

I just can’t fathom how bad you have to be to ruin a story so bad that a show about literally smoking behind a convenience store is far more interesting.

don’t get me wrong, I love a good slice of life show and have been excited to see the show. but when compared to something like a fantasy Isekai it’s clear which should be a more engrossing and entertaining show.

I wonder if anyone at the guild will take responsibility if they got a bunch of newbies killed at a guild-organized exam quest. It seemed they did not take enough of a safety margin.

It’s kind of hard to tell what the guild’s priorities in this are. I mean, most of the newbs taking the exam weren’t even ready for the expected low-level-zombie-killing fest. Maybe the guild feels the most efficient way to get rid of overconfident idiots is getting them killed (with appropriate “indemnify and hold harmless” clauses on the exam sign-up sheet). While that wouldn’t be very nice of them, it isn’t unusual for life in those types of fantasy worlds to be nasty, brutish, and short.

Any readers of the source material have any insight?
