I don’t understand why they’re bothering with this. Isn’t the Moba shooter genre already played-out? It felt like it was losing steam over 10 years ago when they dropped a sequel to Monday Night Combat that nobody asked for.
Ya, for an alpha game with unfinished assets and lacking polish - it’s stupid good. I’ve been out of the mobs scene for like a year or two and haven’t had a shooter register for a while, so maybe I’m starved, but this thing keeps me coming back every night.
Well there’s not really any major 3rd person MOBA’s, and Deadlock is not very similar to Smite in gameplay.
I think it’s an interesting addition to a not very well explored genre – I’m not the biggest MOBA fan but this one is a lot of fun (for me) because of the emphasis on movement and patience.
I wonder if the dev team wanted to play a game that doesn’t really exist yet and so they made this, since it seems more like a passion project.

The player count is pretty high (95k as of this writing)
Now is a good time to bring back a moba because the market isn’t as saturated when MNC was released.
And for what it is worth, MNC was a great game.

It’s certainly a refreshing change from the dearth of objective-based hero shooters trying to recapture the magic of 2016 OW
95k while it’s still invite-only imagine when they open the flood gates for everyone
God I loved MNC, and SMNC is still my highest played game, a decade out.
Deadlock doesn’t have the life and pizzaz that either game had.
