They apparently caught it early.

I hope I will be fine. I hope I will be okay.

I may go vegan soon.

I’m trying to watch my diet and exercise more now.

I could use all the advice in the world now.

This seems like it isn’t an actual crosspost, which is a specific Lemmy feature, not merely double-posting and manually linking to the other post.

Still, it reached me, and boy do I have news for you if you can tolerate needle injections:

Retatrutide ‘wiped out’ fat in liver of obese patients - VCU Health

Retatrutide Liver Fat Reduction — Clinical Evidence 2026

Retatrutide for Fatty Liver: 85% Liver Fat Reduction in MASLD Patients

I know an American who buys this peptide directly from China and had the stuff locally lab-tested to be sure. Peptides are not cheap but his transformation has been pretty incredibly drastic in just a matter of weeks.

Anyway, not trying to be a shill for any specific product since I don’t even know who his vendor is. It was just an interesting discussion I had. I’m sorry you’re going through this. It must be very scary. I would recommend that you go pescatarian, not full-blown vegan, unless you really know what you’re doing or you personally know near-centenarian vegans who can guide you towards their diets. Of course, maybe people in this sub community can help you (I admire the movement which is why I read here, yet am not actually vegan myself, so far, though I’ve tried in the past).

Also, this certainly seems like a “miracle cure” but it’s probably best to keep expectations in check.

Still, many people I’ve known have gone to China for treatment recently and have received great care in those places as well as in Vietnam.

Peptides, huh? I’ve heard of those. I will look into it.

If you dislike the idea of China, then sure, try Vietnam! The people may be friendlier there, though I’ve never been there so idk…

          I love China and Vietnam.

I was just remarking that I’ve heard similar things.

It is certainly hard to go vegan. I have been planning to do so but haven’t started. Perhaps pescatarian is right for me.

I am quite scared as I type this.

They apparently caught it early. I am going back this Tuesday to the gastroenterologist to ask questions.

I would probably be terrified, but remember, stress aggravates all diseases, so try to stay calm and positive, as much as possible.

What had your diet been, out of curisity?

          Frankly, lots of red meat.

Too many NSAIDs to go to sleep.

          Carbs

I stopped all of that yesterday.

Oh, so you’re trying to go vegan keto! Be careful to not go cold turkey, at least with the carbs; that could cause short-term issues, unless you’ve thoroughly researched what you’re doing. Work some tofu and avocados into every 1-2 days and that should help a lot. I love chickpeas, personally.

I always like to tout the Mediterranean diet, if you haven’t dug into that yet.
