I wouldn’t trust US for anything health? #1 in obesity #1 in most expensive healthcare system
I hate to burst your hate bubble, but the US isn’t even in the top 10 for obesity. They’re 17th, which isn’t great, but nowhere near number one.
Second, US healthcare costs are insane 100%. While I don’t like to regulate business, it’s utterly out of control. Along with car insurance, it’s legally required (for good reasons) but not government regulated is nuts.
Healthcare shouldn’t be just for the top 1%. It’s a universal right. No one should have to choose between food/rent and insulin.

But really, read the whole article. It made me feel I need a shower.
Grifter of the fucking world.
Trump’s ugly mug is going to start showing up on bags of grain being dropped on poor people around the world. I wouldn’t be surprised if they dropped a load of rice on a rice farmers field in China.
13th in obesity rate and 9th in per capita healthcare costs, but why let the truth get in the way of a popular comment right?
Now become diabetic and go pay $700+ for insulin that cost $3 everywhere else. Don’t protect America, hell I’m American and we’re a disgrace. We care about profits over health and well being.
Truth of what? I have never seen anything put health care spending per capita higher than in the us. I need a reference on where you are getting 9th. In addition the only countries I have seen in articles around obesity are like small island populations and even then there were never a dozen over us.
I think ay one point, possibly still, Mexicos obesity rate was higher than the usa. However, I agree, this is a bad faith comment.
Dont be ridiculous.
The CDC is an amazing instutution based on best practice of evidence based policy that promotes the health of Americans and globally.
The great work of USAID helps keep hundreds of thousands of kids in developong countries from dying.
Working together globally in institutions, like the UN, to promote better health outcomes for everyone, is also a noble endeavour as we move to a multi polar world. All done with the minimum possible friction.
It was a reasonable institution, but then the worms took over.
Pretty big friction point with the pedophile fascist in charge if you ask me.
i hope you’re joking…
because the “get back to work, stop masking, and stop testing to save the economy” part of the covid response was /so/ evidence based and not just the CDC bowing to corporate interests, right?
Gosh, maybe the /s was neccessary. Clearly I should have talked about the education system too.
Yes it is. Since you’re so educated, tell us about Poe’s Law.
Hmm, I can’t tell if snark or compliment. /s
