I’m old enough to remember when that was every day. Now we gotta wait for Don-old to kick the bucket (from natural causes, obviously) to bring those days back.

I’m old enough to remember when that was every day.

I grew up in the 80s, and his name was constantly in the local news. Most of it about how exciting his new casinos were… or how he stiffed contractors… or how he ran the casinos into the ground. Something many of the adults at the time seem to have forgotten about completely. facepalm

I remember before the 2016 election I saw an interview of one of the contractors he stiffed. They were still pretty pissed about it and they said they’d never work for him again.

Of course, they said they were going to vote for him. Because he was a “businessman”.

I grew up in the 00’s and I still had to listen to the news constantly telling us about how he got towns to kick people out of their homes so he could expand the parking lots for his casinos and hotels.

We thought this after he lost the first time, but it will really take this second defeat to truly vanquish these foes

Even then, the kids will still be around to terrorize us for years, even decades to come.

Super not looking forward to Senator Eric Trump and Secretary of State Ivanka Trump. Don Jr might just do a shitty show on daily wire and complain about any woman who won’t fuck him, which is most women but he doesn’t understand that the company he keeps is already shallow enough to put up with him so his sample size of women who will fuck him is harshly skewed when compared to all women. Especially sad because he’s already too old for that, but I’m thinking this will be when he’s even older. This is the world I’m predicting in like 2033. Prove me wrong, America. Make all of these shady fucks irrelevant.

        I predict a different trajectory:

Ivanka/Jared will continue to avoid public life, remaining quietly evil in private. Don Jr. will have a quick and rabid rise on FoxNews.88, which will, inexplicably, take in and “blow” through millions of dollars monthly on “operating costs” right up until Don Jr.’s heart explodes on-air mid-rant, which then cuts to Kimberly Aluminum Foil just as her lips deflate into gigantic, leathery saddlebags. Neither are seen again. Nor missed.

Representative (because no way is he getting elected senator) Eric Trump’s helicopter crashes in Long Island Sound when he attempts to grab the controls from, who he believes are, LEGO minifigs flying the craft.

I don’t wish death on anyone, but this trajectory is actually sadly quite predictable. Ivanka seems smart enough to avoid negative press. Don Jr. clearly has a inferiority complex and wants to impress Dad. He even signs his name similarly. He’s like a dumber Kendall Roy

Eric may never be a representative but the “death by heli / small airplane” is sadly common among rich people who can’t be bothered sitting in traffic in a limousine.

Just like how America wanted to ignore Nazi Germany and stay out of conflict? No thanks. Discussion around conflicts is generally much more good for public awareness and education than promoting intollerance.

You have a point, and I support that. But it’s just too much. The whole internet (English speaking social media) is currently just a shit storm of American politics that nobody cares about. We’ve seen 50 different angles of a stupid ear. Daily we see 10 different politicians, news stations or whatever people that suddenly get a platform saying stupid stuff about <insert other side here>. And do you know what we don’t get? Actual discussion about actual problems.

[…] while discussing the possibility of Ivanka’s posing for Playboy magazine: “It would be really disappointing — not really — but it would depend on what’s inside the magazine. I don’t think Ivanka would do that, although she does have a very nice figure. I’ve said if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her.”

Unfortunately this is the one case where I gotta agree with the “voting doesn’t change anything” crowd

Losing the first time around didn’t stop the media from sacrificing the safety of the republic on the altar of the almighty horse race reporting, one more loss isn’t gonna stop it either.

That shit isn’t disappearing without significant voting reforms that consigns the Republicans to the loosely organized also rans that they actually are if you consider independent voters and non voters as additional parties.

I’d say it’s a stretch given the nature of first past the post two party elections and strategic voting. But who knows. Anything could happen.

FPTP is one part, but also the part that can be addressed at the state level.

I’m sure all the non-voters are active at the state level?

When he got elected, people said “Oh, he’ll get sick of it and resign in a few months.” Then, when he didn’t resign, they said, “Oh, well, he for sure won’t run a second time”, despite the fact that he never stopped campaigning, even while he was in office.

I’m not buying it. The guy loves being president. He loves the power, he loves the attention. He isn’t going to just dry up and blow away.

I know that “your brain is a computer” is a handy metaphor, but it really doesn’t work that way. Your brain makes up all kinds of shit and then completely abandons it a couple of seconds later.
