I… when was stupid an ableist slur? From what I understand it is basically stupor. Just… being temporarily not fully focused mentally….
It’s not the R word, or even the one referring to people who can’t speak. Or even idiot which I still think is pretty far removed from being used to refer to those with disabilities at this point in common language even if it may have AGES ago but would understandably avoid if you’d asked.
Like… do you want me to say “person with not-smartness?” Like I understand not wanting to be ableist but I don’t think this is. People can do things that aren’t smart sometimes. It’s fine.
Hi friend, just to understand, what sort of language would you prefer be used that carries the same weight and connotation to the target of discussion? I’m struggling to find other words that weild the same intentions that couldn’t be categorized under “ableist”.
I find it funny that this and other similar words considered ableist suggest instead the term “dipshit”. Okay, that works for me, as long as the vocab police are good with it.
Please do not take this the wrong way… but this account has to be a joke right? How does someone who gets triggered by the word “dad” and “love” become a mod? Or more importantly, why?
Your profile is telling people not to use extremely common words in your presence.
I think cele’s being genuine, which is… yikes. If someone’s triggers are so common and overwhelming, they really need to be in serious therapy, not moderating an open forum which will frequently feature those triggers.
Anyone else go straight to what state it’s in and you’re never surprised? It’s always the ones you most expect.
Yeah it’s from an arrest record, which is public in Florida. Which is why people associate crazy with it. Promise people are equally stupid elsewhere.
Walking around like regular people. They don’t see each other. They only see what they want to see. They don’t know they’re stupid.

genuinely, what word should people use when referring to someone’s lack of intelligence?

when is the last time you’ve interacted with the general public? like, in person, not on a carefully curated internet box?
I actually expected it to be Texas.
That’s why I said “it’s always the ones you most expect,” plural.
There are a few states where I could see this happening.

Cele replied to me and cele thinks intelligence is rooted in eugenicism.
