    Well seeing as the sole mod of this community was only active for around a month almost a year ago, I doubt you’ll get an answer from them.

    However, I’d consider a “true” vegan to be someone who abstains from consuming/using animal products for ethical reasons. I’ve met too many “health-focused vegans” who saw it as a fad diet more than anything else, wearing leather or fur, using animal-tested products, and even as far as eating meat occasionally and still calling themselves vegan.

    My guess would be referring to vegans that dont treat it as a diet. Veganism is a way of life aimed at eliminating animal cruelty and exploitation as a result of your actions and consumption as much as realistically possible. It extends beyond what you eat to also what you buy and how you live your day to day life
