Since discovering how cheap and convenient lentils, pre-cooked beans and dried soy chunks are, I do wonder if this industry will stick around long-term. I could imagine lots of politically unmotivated folks switching to plant-based meat alternatives once they’re cheaper and just staying there. But at the same time, if price is your motivation, it’s going to be hard to beat the legumes…
The only supermarket in my town used to carry those Yves sandwich slices and I really liked them. Yves also had/has a vegan pepperoni that was great too. But they ditched them in favor of all tofurkey slices. Which are okay, but, to me, no where near as good as the Yves.
What is “plant-based meat”? Did they mean meat alternatives? Or is it actual fucking meat grown from plants?
