I mentioned in the weekly thread i was going to make sushi for the extended family this week. We made 18 rolls and it was a huge hit! I forgot to take pictures the day of so these were some of the leftovers on day 2, but still delicious!

The rolls are our favorite from a local restaurant and a few years ago we saw the they had shared the recipe here in case anyone is interested in trying it.

    It can be a ton of work. Seasoning the rice properly, creating different fillings and also a variety of sauces, and then rolling and slicing the rolls neatly (the hardest part - if you don’t have a sharp knife, like don’t even try). If you’re like me, you end up with a huge mess. It does get a little easier every time, but it is much harder than it looks at first. You’ll easily spend half a day in the kitchen, unless you somehow have everything already on hand.

      I cheat and have a mold, which makes it so much easier. You put the rice and filling in, and you press it into a cylinder and then just roll that in nori. It made sushi become a much more frequent dish at home.
