Compared to America, Europe might look socialist. I assure you it’s not.

Generative AI is not deterministic. The same input doesn’t necessarily mean the same output every time.
I’m baffled how much people care about other people’s clothing. It’s childish. How do shorts or pants have anything to do with professionalism?
Well here in Germany we have about 40-50 million votes to count in a federal election. Right when the booths close we get an exit poll that is already pretty close. After 1-2 hours there are extrapolations that are even closer and next morning, there is usually the certified result. All on paper, counted by hand.
I just buy Bethesda games years after release and have a blast playing them.
I love my bike trailer. I added an aluminium box to make it water proof and I use it almost weekly for groceries.
The Democratic Party is largely conservative and reactionary. There are some progressive elements because progressives have nowhere else to go. The US election system is fucked and undemocratic. It needs to change.
Still, not voting for Democrats achieves absolutely nothing but costing them a vote they need against the literal fascists of the Republican Party.
Hitler did not have a 50% majority but the NSDAP was the strongest party, giving them a lot of leverage. If his opposition had been more unified, he wouldn’t have had a chance at becoming chancellor.
McCain was a conservative and I don’t agree with his policies but compared to today’s Republican Party, he was a knight in shining armor. He spoke and acted in good faith, at least.

If you are rear-ending another car, you are the problem 100% of the time. You always need to treat other drivers as if they were complete morons. That includes always keeping enough distance to safely stop if they suddenly slam they breaks.
I can’t speak for that specific article but nachdenkseiten.de is usually full of shit. They spread misinformation and are nazi apologists. Please be careful with your sources and try to verify information you read online.
In Germany, if you’re in jail you can’t be elected into office. You can however always cast your vote even from jail (except for rare and extreme political crimes such as terrorism, starting a war and such)
This is the best comment I read on the topic on Lemmy. Thank you for making a great point and not bluntly resorting to antisemitism.
So is the US and lots of other countries.
It’s completely delusional to vote for a third party candidate in the US election system. The chance of winning is 0%. It won’t happen. Absolutely impossible. The only thing it does is strengthen the candidate with the more committed voter base or in other words: the republican candidate.
If you had ranked choice voting or the president was elected by a parliament that is elected by proportional vote like in most of Europe, that wouldn’t be a problem. It’s not like that though. If you vote third party in the US, all you accomplish is making a Trump victory more likely.
Better kick the can down the road than slip and fall and fucking die.
Spelling is still a hot mess in US English, but it’s substantially better than British.
