  • I really don’t notice a difference between home grown or store bought. But I really think it depends on the store and season you’re buying from. If it’s actually in season, supplies are more local and fresh. If you’re buying a tomato in February, of course it is going to be awful, it’s being shipped thousands of miles. And you can’t grow your own tomatoes in February unless it’s in your house or a green house (which is a luxury I’ve never even met someone I knew had. You own a whole other building, on property? You own property in which you can fit another building?!)

    Apples are the worst offenders, if you’re buying apples in spring, you’re buying last year’s harvest.
