i’m also currently living in an abusive situation and its a really piece of shit situation. you feel like you’re outside looking in at humanity and you kind of understand why others cant exactly save you but it still hurts in a very primal way. i’m avoiding college right now because i know it won’t be a pleasant experience in my current circumstances.

you should give yourself some grace and congratulations for graduating, it’s hard and not everyone can go through it. even “half assed” is more than many of us can achieve.

my favourite cope is knowing that this is just a part of history as it goes… every single generation has some really shitty things they went through but eventually survived. our burden to carry is that we have a shit job market and we have had to stay in abusive situations. boomers had to stay in abusive marriages with people they didnt really like, gen xers were neglected, millennials had a shit job market to deal with etc. it helps to think of our pain not as an individual torture but rather as a collective experience.

not really cultural advice but more of a gentle request, could your essay perhaps also focus on the aftermath of social death for those who can ”reintegrate”? i never see people talk about how it feels when youre technically no longer a drug addict or homeless but you still have the memories of people not even giving you eye contact and how it impacts your view of humanity in general. i think this could nail in how long lasting it is.

often times when kids are ahead they have things severely wrong with them whether it be industry exploitation, feeling isolated from their peers etc.

they often have something very bad coming for them too because theyre sorrounded by evil people. maybe its an evil manager, maybe its a parent who pays for their private tutoring. when you have high skills at a young age it often comes from people pouring money into you and that will come back to bite them at some point. hence why many child stars find themselves in deep financial issues later in life.

i think we become better with age and the experience we acquire. a bit of a lore drop but in my early teens i was trying to get into the music industry and had a grand plan to run away to L.A and even had contacts there and found some songwriting opportunities. im forever thankful that never took off because kids get chewed up and spit out in there…

sometimes for just a moment i resent non-communists because they get to be stupid and unaware of the greater evils of the world. i know i know it’s not a personal issue and we SHOULD feel uncomfortable because the system NEEDS to be changed but it still sucks. just a few minutes ago i was taking a shit and looking up why people look down on blue collars workers. i got into a bit of a rabbithole about how corporate workers also have it reallllyyy bad but they shame blue collar workers to feel better and i got overwhelmed because 1. we need to have empathy for corporate workers too 2. we need to unite workers of all kinds against the actual threat and started to think about the magnitude of said task. everyday its like this and it feels so lazy to even say i would like a mental break because the system doesnt take a break ever.
