May be. But they’ve shown a lot of determination for it so far and I hold some faith that they’ll push it pretty far.
Is it much of a surprise when it comes to MiHoYo? Their entire model is based around this kind of thing.
I have a friend that refuses to play FFXIV again because how addicted they felt towards it. That came off the back of a WoW addiction that led them to mix up their priorities between food, alcohol and playing the game. The whole addition to both of those was a way for dealing with other mental health issue, yet only made matters worse with how those games work.
I also had my own issues with game addiction when I was dealing with grief over a death. Fortunately it didn’t impact my physical health but it did impact other areas. I certainly wasn’t looking after myself and my surroundings as best as I could back then, and neglected a lot in my life.
My friend found a way of dealing with game addiction by removing them entirely, I found ways to prioritise other areas of my life and continue with that while keeping gaming strictly as a hobby.
Often I think people become addicted to games like any other substance due to dealing with external factors in life that they’re not getting help for. It takes a lot to realise there’s a problem, it takes even more to deal with the root causes. Some people also have low thresholds for addiction and which exacerbates it.
25 years already?! It doesn’t seem that long ago. I might see if I can dig mine out - Jet Set Radio or Sonic…
I’d seen similar, if not exact, set lists elsewhere. Hope you have a good time. FF music is always a pleasure live - I had such a good time when I’ve been to see Distant Worlds - so I’m sure you’ll enjoy this one.
Remember that time when Peter Molyneux said he wasn’t going to speak to the press or about games anymore?
“I understand that people are sick of hearing my voice and hearing my promises. So I’m going to stop doing press and I’m going to stop talking about games completely.”
I’m looking forward to playing this, so will be staying staying away from anything early like this, and not even clicking through.
To go with the discussion prompt; I do think modern games can, but they need to stay as true as possible in a number of ways. Games like Silent Hill 2 won’t benefit from changing the combat to something more action oriented, and the story needs to be as close as possible. Sometimes things may differ and that’s understandable, but the question has to be asked, “Is this the game that would have been made back then if they had todays funding, technology, or knowledge?”
I’ve got little experience or knowledge of others that have attempted this before so I can really comment there. But I do appreciate what they’re attempting here and I wonder if there’s some wider picture around this for the long term that they’re not able to discuss in the open.
My current suspicion (and it is only suspicion) is that this may be around further increased graphic fidelity for when PS5 Pro is released - I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s several improvements in store to take advantage of any new hardware.
Me and my kid played it for a little while earlier and it’s so good in it’s simplicity. I can’t wait to go back and play more. But it also me instantly wonder why Sony haven’t got Asobi to do a new Ape Escape.
I don’t know what support for the DualSense is like on PC but the game seems to rely on gyro and haptic triggers for some features. I’ve only played the first few levels but I image the rest of them being this way too. For the controls alone I’d say it makes it less likely to be on PC (but they managed it with Returnal so who knows).
I can across this a while back that might scratch some of the SSX itch for me - its an indy game that takes heavy inspiration from SSX. There’s a basic demo, it plays quite well on Steam Deck. Though I wasn’t a fan of the controls, so hoping the dev changes them or allows them to be changed.
I’d love to see them do this, but they’d need to find a way to make the gatcha elements more palatable. Gatcha was the primary reason that I never played for long.
I think we’re covered for the time being unless we start to seem more growth in terms of activity. Because a lot of the content that is being shared at the moment is by myself it makes it easier to manage.
Appreciate you asking though!
That’s actually great to hear. I might have to check it in that case. Thanks.
You’ve been upset enough to call her a brat for calling “us all racist” (whoever “us” is), treating it as a personal attack on yourself, when its not actually applying to you. Only to then get defensive and change your reasoning when called out on it.
These two are not the same;
the brat from Kentucky decided to call us all racists
I call her a brat because she’s using her identity (and the black community) as a shield
Whichever way it is, or how upset you actually are, it seems very misplaced.
See the strange thing about these points your making isn’t your concerns and whether they’re valid or not, they’re your opinions and you’re entitled to those. Whats strange is your reaction and defensiveness.
If you’re not racist then Sena isn’t talking about you, and if you’re not personally attacking her, then Yoshi-P isn’t talking about you either.
So why are you so upset about those statements from both of those people?
That’s a weird thing to get angry at her for, when you didn’t care about her and presumably aren’t racist, but ok.
