Don’t want to be a devil’s advocate but can you provide something more than “I’m offended”? Let’s say issue ticket(s), status page links, other people complaining, etc?

I read an article about Fermi paradox (I cannot find the link) that stated the humans are one of the first intelligent beings in the universe. That’s why we haven’t encountered any green men so far. We just might came too soon to the party.
I was about to suggest the same thing with a small caveat. From what I know, communication between doorbell and base station is unencrypted. I might be wrong, it’s been a while since I read about it, so double check the current status.
That’s why you should use “usb condom” when charing your phone from untrusted power source.
It depends on an age group. I would agree that in a group of 20-30 it’s a mess, but 35+ you can find a decent partner (depending on your age of course).
I have a mild speech impairment. I don’t stutter on a daily basis but when I’m under heavy stress or when I’m tired I tend to stutter-ish. On top of that I live in a country where I don’t speak in my native language and sometimes I feel self-conscious about small mistakes I make (like using the wrong word or messing up the grammar) which induces the stress response. It’s not a big deal but it makes me crazy when I can’t express my thoughts in public.
I will but first answer my question. Why, according to you I might be a little racist, sexists?
I think you didn’t understand my answer. Let me give you an example. If I say “I like oranges more than apples”, normal people will think “ok, this guy likes oranges more than apples”. But modern, progressive people who care about political correctness will call me applefobic.
People got too sensitive growing in the secure bubbles and when exposed to a real world with a real science, statistics and opinions get offended over nothing.
If the question is open, e.g. “do you like apples?” and the question is in my area of interest, I usually give an answer. But if the question assumes an answer or is deliberately polarizing, e.g. “why don’t you like apples?” I pass.
It’s not about how you talk. It’s about what you talk about.
Political correctness.
If you feel sick talk to your doctor. Internet “knowledge” doesn’t work in case on medical issues. So called tips and tricks may work for a person who posted it but it could be dangerous for you. If calling a stranger (in this case a doctor’s office) invokes anxiety, talk to a therapist.
I have not. I will have a read, thanks.
I have a few thoughts on this. And before you downvote me, read to the end and have a genuine reflection.
Because of that and many more similar issues, people turn into dangerous, populist ideas. Those far-right movements prey on nations insecurities and gain support by hitting the “sweet spot”. And the worst part is that the central views get boxed as left or right winged which basically undercuts what they are tying to sell.
And just for the record, the Polish PiS party is not far right. It’s a populist, socialist party playing a church card every time it’s convenient.
I was talking about today’s AI - virtual assistants, bots and the good old regular complex algorithms rebranded as AI. The “real AI” will benefit from the buzz. AI/ML was around for few decades now but it lacked media attention. Since LLMs got into mainstream, I think the science will continue to grow but the “public” projects will mostly die when the bubble bursts.
So, here’s my input. So-called AI is today’s bubble that will burst just like the NFT did. The vast majority of AI startups will go under, and the few that survive will be bought or destroyed by big corporations. What’s left will be extremely invasive in terms of privacy and will be a new source of data breaches. The fact that people responsible for AI startups have no idea what an AI/ML is, will the process even worse.
To me Reddit like platforms are glorified forums. And I don’t mean it as an insult.
It’s rude to judge a person on the basis of a vague description of an idea. My idea was to collect the driver’s data (harsh breaking, rapid acceleration, previous history, etc.) and set the premiums accordingly. Someone who drove carefully would pay less and someone who drove recklessly would pay more. Keep in mind, this was back when Google was still a “don’t be evil” company and it was before the days of surveillance capitalism.
I’ve been using GrapheneOS for over a year. I cannot complain about it, it works as advertised and it does it the best way possible. However, here’s the list of things I find annoying/missing. Keep in mind, this is a subjective list.
