We actually kinda do perceive a fourth dimension: time. Sure, we infer it from our memories and come up with cause and effect relationships to help us understand it. But we do know it’s there.

i have totally run into stuff that silently truncates the password i give it. It’s always something like online banking that you would hope has robust enough security standards to hash that shit, too… The one in particular i’m thinking of silently truncated the password in the reset-password form, but not for the log-in form. Took me forever to figure out wtf was going on there.
i do this all the time. when i get close to finishing the game, i HAVE to go do all the side quests i neglected to finish along the way. Then i get burned out and beforei do the final boss… But my SO has similar video game tastes as me, so i end up just watching him do the final boss on his save hahaha
Sometimes i’ll do this in the winter. We try to minimize heat/AC energy usage, and i get cold easily, so once i’m in the nice warm shower it takes a minute to work up the courage to make the mad dash to get my clothes back on lol
wouldn’t it be awesome to get a case pushed up to the supreme court or something arguing that trump is ineligible to run for president because he “won” in 2016? it would just so perfectly highlight the hypocrisy of it all
I love the lane assist on my car. It does resist me a little bit in the situations you describe, but it’s not a strong resistance. Just enough to get my attention if i do it by accident, but not enough to hinder me going where i need to go.
Now i’m curious what the lane assist parameters look like for different makes and models…
For real. I’m over here having a mid-life crisis since I was 27.
i’m a big fan of “hectomillionaires” (the term, not the system that allows hectomillionaires to exist to the detriment of us all, of course)
That’s how i was until i took a French class. Before that, I was trying to fit everything into a single set of rules with a multitude of exceptions. But really there are multiple sets of rules. Learning another set of rules for a language that had such a huge impact on what English is today really helped (although, there are still plenty of exceptions to keep in mind lol)
unlike that window…
OH! I see it! It’s a little guy saluting
welp, there goes my Tuesday.
platformers very often include coyote-time to make jumps feel better and to account for imprecise reaction times of players, but that would be cool to see it as a legit mechanic
I think that’s one of the theories for explaining dark matter (i personally like the idea because it can also possibly address why gravity seems to be so much weaker of a fundamental force, but i’m a chemist, not a physicist, so take that with a grain of salt).
