Ernst Röhm was only powerful because of his position within Hitlers ranks, and he was taken out immediately and secretly with no open feud going on between them. It was Hitler removing old baggage within his own ranks, as he had outgrown them.

Röhm was never a powerful figure on his own. But both Trump and Musk are powerful in American society independent of each other, and, assuming this feud is real, it makes it much more interesting than The Night of Long Knives, because they both have the capability of dealing a lot of damage to each other.
