The best theory I’ve heard so far is that trump doesn’t want the war to end, because he is using it like the tariffs last year with the TACO trade, to make insider trades in the stock and futures markets. He is literally killing US troops and Iranian children just to make money.
A valid point. I assume you are still young and healthy. I look at the world from the perspective of a senior citizen in Florida. Although I do walk and bike, there are days when I can just barely make it to the car, and into the doctor’s office. I never expected to be this fragile and impaired in old age. I just look at the rest of the world from my own perspective.
Europe has no oil. Your option of avoiding it is now on a 30 to 60 day fuse. You can pay big euros for a real car or buy a bike, but a lifestyle build on other people’s oil is over.

FYI a cheap stripped down electric car already exists in Europe. it’s the L7e quadricycle. looks like a car, acts like a car, can go up to 55 mph, most do 28 mph, $8700 USD. I live in a Florida retirement community and everyone is driving electric low speed vehicles (golf cars). Mine is an older gas model but gets 50mpg. If it dies I’m definitely going electric.

The point you’re missing is that at the weapons makers have the profit margins to bribe trump and the republicans. If the poor people want their needs met, they are going to have to make a more substantive monetary offering. The president is too busy to consider something so insubstantial as the needs of the voters, unless it comes engraved on bars of gold. And yes that’s “bars” plural.

The advertisers are doing the same math as the spam calls and emails. Basically, if one in 10,000 bite, that’s all they need to stay in business. Ads, and spam both target stupid desperate easily manipulated people. The fact that you also see it, and show distain, in no way affects their business model.

Has anyone considered the flip side of this. if we are unintentionally creating a bacteria that eats plastic, and our civilization is made of plastic, then this is a bad thing. Hospital equipment, airplanes, computers food storage, electrical wires…

I’m in the usa, and I even know there are already extensive fuel shortages in Australia. Mostly due to Australia’s refusal to keep the required 90 strategic reserve or have any refineries.
PS: Yes I know this is all trump’s fault, but Australia and New Zealand seem to have just refused to prepare for the inevitable.
